“Cruise the med”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2013

for a wonderful day out, spend it on a cruise to Balos Bay. You will visit the old pirate's fortress for fabulous views and swims in the crystal clear sea, and then continue on to Balos Bay, the perfect place. Spend time in the sea and on the beach. Simple fresh food available on the boat. A wonderful day out.

“Best day out in Crete!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

I think this is great value for money at 22 euros considering it is a whole day trip, whereas one hour trips along the coast from Chania charge 10 euros. The scenery is superb and the boat crew do a great job mooring so close to the shore. The sea is crystal clear and swimming in the lagoon at Balos is a real joy. There are a lot of people but the area is big enough to cope with them. Great value and the best day out during our whole stay in Crete.

“Great day at see”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2012

The boat (a relatively big one, seen here in other reviewers pictures) sailed at 10:40 from Kissamos port (maybe because it is the end of the tourists season). A ticket cost 22 euro per person. It takes about an hour to get to the first stop, which is an old fortress with a great view of the see surrounding you. The climb to the fortress is not easy, so make sure to bring appropriate shoes, water and a hat.
After spending there about an hour and a half, mostly catching my breath after the steep climb, the boat set sails to the lagoon. Unfortunately on our visit the weather was windy and partly cloudy. I am sure we would have enjoyed it more if we had a clear sky. the way back takes about 1 hour as well.

Bottom line - a very nice way to spend one day in your vacation.

“Excellent sea adventure”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2012

This is an excellent option for those who are not renting a car but still would like to see all the beauty of Crete. We had a hotel transfer which brought us directly to the Kissamos port and handed out the tickets. Boat is filling up pretty quickly (we were there 1 hour before and it was quite full already) with people wondering around for better seats. The overall experience on the boat was pleasant, prices in the bar affordable. However, you go there not for the boat but for the views which were spectacular. The first stop at Gramvousa island is for 2 hours. If you want to see the castle which offers some amazing views on the surroundings you basically don't have time for beach in there. Still, it is totally worth it. After that boat takes another 15 minutes to arrive to Balos lagoon where you have around 3 hours to spend. Honestly, it is not enough. While all the people get down the boat, walk towards the beach etc etc the precious time is sliding through your fingers. I highly recommend this trip, because you have the chance to go to the 'corners' of Crete, combine nice travel in the sea with climbing up the castle and views of the sea all around you as long as you can reach and some relaxing time on beautiful beach with very pink sand.
