“Such a treat!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2013 via mobile

After walking the Camino for a few weeks we decided to treat ourselves to a fine meal. Indeed this was worth every penny. We got the chefs menu and enjoyed it so much. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable.
If you're looking for a unique dining experience don't pass this place.
Their olive oil is A number 1!!
Gracias!

“Wonderful food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

We were two people having lunch here and took the degustation menu. We were both extremely happy with the food and the service. Each dish was carefully explained to us. They use high quality ingredients and the menu changes from day to day. The price of the degustation menu was 28 euros, but for such meal, it is a very good deal. I strongly recommend it.

“Great service, superb food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2012

This was the best restaurant we visited during our recent trip around Galicia. We arrived on Sunday lunchtime and asked if they catered for vegetarians, as my partner was fed up with tortillas and salads. They served her the most delicious tomato salad from the menu, and prepared a superb vegetable risotto, which she loved. I had the menu degustacion (even though it should have been for a minimum of 2 people, and I was only one) - bogavante, sardines, navajas, gallo - all were excellent fish/shellfish dishes and were followed by a sort of rice pudding with melocoton. The albarino house wine was very good, and the service was attentive and discreet. The maitre'd also had time for a nice chat about Mallorca, where we live and where he had worked previously. And the price was so low...... Don't miss O Fragon if you are in Fisterra!

“Good Galician Cuisine”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2012

We have eaten a couple of times at this restaurant in Fisterra and would certainly recommend it for anyone looking for a taste of well-cooked traditional Galician fare. The last time we were served delicious small squids with ink and poached tomato and also great razor clams as starters. The main dishes were also fish: wild sea bass with green pepper and bonito with diced courgette and aubergine. The fish was of top quality, perhaps a little bit overdone to our taste, and I found the bonito and vegetables combination somewhat too simple; there wasn't a great imagination at work. I really liked the Rosal white wine we had (Quinta do Couselo), perfect match for the fish.
Our dessert was a Valrhona chocolate mousse with orange which was yummy but too rich; there was too much cream in it, making it too dense to the palate. The previous time we had an absolutely fantastic 3 chocolate dessert but, sadly, it was not on the menu this time.
The service was somewhat disappointing on this ocassion. We did not get any appetizers while we waited for our orders to come and we got the clear sensation that the owner disliked children. We went there with our 2 year old, who is a good eater and was in a good mood on that day, but he didn't manage to get the slightest smile from the poker faced owner. I don't expect everyone serving to be smiling or looking cheerful all the time, but some degree of being nice to clients is usually welcome.
