“no fear of the end of the world!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2014

Finisterre is the end of the world...and where it all begins!
no tourism hustle at all!
simple people greeting the pilgrims of the St.James Way, Santiago de Compostela, coming from all over the world, to a harsh cap with 2 beaches: the hard Outer Sea, with all its strength to be admired, and the Langosteira beach - 5km of peaceful waters, ideal for family with children.
the hotel room was very proper and with a veranda where I sat calmly down to enjoy the view over the bay.
Traveling with children has always the side that the kids get so enthusiastic and I was very pleased how hotel staff managed to be polite and at the same time showing my kids the dos and donts - kudos for that.
Amazing fresh breakfast with the sun raying all over the dining room. And the beach is just across the street, a 5 minutes walk.
Finisterre is a small fishing town, where i really felt like staying until the last taberna door would close - well, the pilgrims that finish their path there have all the time in the world, so it is a lively spot.
I can't wait to go there again - if you are brave enough, try the visit to the lighthouse at night...

Room Tip: take a book to read on the room balcony!

This hotel is about 2km from the town of Finisterre. . .It is very close to a nice beach and if that is your reason to be there, well and good. The immediate surroundings are however poor with unfinished buildings and ruins. It has nice rooms but you pay for them. Breakfast was included with a large choice eg of Kellogs cereals in boxes, however they are all aimed at children, full of sugar. There was no muesli. Camino walkers might well prefer something more modest in Finisterre .

So what do you want - to be in the town of Fisterra and to walk to the beach every day. Or do you want to be 3 minutes from the beach in a 3 star hotel and walk into Fisterra in the evening. We chose the latter after the Camino and were glad we did. It's a lovely walk along the beach (past a great restaurant) and then a short walk into town. The hotel is clean, well run and friendly. The patron speaks very good English and service is excellent (helped sort bus time tables etc).

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights after finishing the Camino de Santiagio. We had a large room on the top floor with a extra sofa and spacious bathroom. The hotel is located very close to a lovely beach, and walking distance to Fisterra and various restaurants there. The bar is well stocked with interresting options.
It does not have a very personal feel to it, but if you are looking for comfort at a reasonable price and good service, its fine!

Room Tip: Go for the top floor!

Definitely a No-no for Hotel Playa Langosteira.
The sounds of the footsteps -high heels or even barefoot- were
loud and clear. The room was extremely poor soundproof.
For this room we payed more than a room in a 5 star hotel in the city of
A Coruña.

A nice place to stay on your way to Cap Finisterre. Clean, spacious room and very friendly staff. The breakfast is better than the average Spanish; the restaurant where one can dine a la carte is very good and affordable.

Although we only stayed one night while traveling through Galicia but we should have stayed longer! The hotel was fantastic, very clean, excellent service and value. Our room was very clean and spacious. The breakfast was a big bonus. We appreciated the hospitality. I would stay here again.
