“Grand B&B with spectacular view”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2012

The three nights spend at Julie and Joels B&B were just perfect! Generous host, who made you feel welcome at like at home. Location is ideal for both walking in Sierra Nevada and "exploiting" the cultural heritage in Grenada.

What a beautiful place! We were welcomed into the family home and made to feel like one of the family in next to no time! Julie and Joel are marvellous hosts and they have a great house that encapsulates the ethos of Guejar Sierra so nicely, laid back and ever so friendly. As a base for exploring the local area, whether ski-ing, sight seeing in Granada, walking or mountain biking, we could not recommend Arroyo de la Greda highly enough. The rooms are spacious with magnificent views across the valley and up the mountains whilst the beds are so comfortable and give a good nights sleep every time. Having personally looked into every available accommodation in the village, you won't find anywhere better than here!!

Perfecto!
Our stay with Arroyo de la Greda was perfect. We spent four days and nights there in June this year. We couldn't believe our good luck when we saw the view from the upstairs balcony. It is truly amazing. This is a top class homestay with a lovely family, big clean rooms and a great guest kitchen. Julie is a wonderful host and seems to second-guess just what is needed. The breakfasts are great and healthy. We all, as a family (my 83 year old dad, me and my 11 year-old son), loved staying with Julie and Joel, and Guejar Sierra is precious. There are fantastic walks in the mountains and by the river. There are also great tapas a 10 minute walk away in the Plaza. It is absolutely somewhere we would stay in the future if we are lucky enough to visit this beautiful area of Spain again. Thank you Julie and Joel.

Room Tip: We had a triple room by the balcony and that was great.

we were welcomed enthousiastically by Julie and her husband. This kindness we have received the whole staying. Julie gave us special attentions such as fresh very tastfull cherries from the garden, advise on trips to make in the Sierra Nevada,... The chamber was very clean and looked very nice and was very practical. Breakfast was served outside when one prefers. Good contacts with other guests. The B&B was very good located to make daytrips walking in the mountains, and also near enough to the city center of Granada (only 20 min driving).

We could not have enjoyed our stay more!

The rooms were wonderfully appointed and maintained, and our hosts were gracious, pleasant, and professional! The town and surrounding mountains are breath-taking, and we enjoyed some hiking and dinners at the suggestion of our hosts. We'd love to go back any time, and highly recommend it to others!

We stayed here for a couple of days to enjoy some magnificent hikes in the Sierra Nevada. Nice big rooms, great sun terrace and a community kitchen (which you'll need, because if you love food; restaurants in the village are either closed (on wednesdays) or pretty bad). Can't beat the price/ quality ratio of this place.

When we were looking for a relaxed, romantic city break, Arroyo de la Greda's location twenty minutes drive from Grenada was the perfect balance between the calm of the mountains and the charm of the city. Arroyo de la Greda delivered more than we had expected.

Julie and her husband Joel are very welcoming, helpful and hard-working hosts - providing us with all the information we needed about the area, as well as helpful hints advice and local knowledge.

Whilst we could have spent our days down in Grenada, the mountainous beauty of Guejar Sierra and the Sierra Nevada meant we excitedly explored the many walks and easy-going hikes in the area. Relaxing on the sun drenched veranda each evening was a highlight and a well-equipped kitchen was great for the couple of nights we stayed in. The town has a couple of enjoyable restaurants and a couple of great bars with great free tapas (e.g. El Porton).

Grenada is very simple to get to from the B&B and the day we spent in the city and at the Alhambra was hugely enjoyable.

Our spacious, clean, well-lit bedroom was perfect and the breakfasts were generous and tasty.

The chilly nights in town reminded us it was winter but, during the day and tucked up in our cosy room, it could have been the height of summer.

All of this at OUTSTANDING VALUE. A perfect long weekend.

Room Tip: We stayed in the 'Alcazaba' room (all rooms are en suite). South facing with natural light a...
