“Pleasant, no-frills room with a friendly host”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2013

We decided to get a room here after familiarizing ourselves with the basics:

1) If you stay here, and you decide to go island-hopping -- to nearby Anawangin Cove, or any of the outlying islands -- then you MUST book your boat via owner Mama Thess.

2) You're paying for a private room, with bed, bath, air-con, and electric fan. Everything else comes with a fee. That set-up worked out just fine for us, since we brought our own supply of towels, toiletries, food, and drinks.

3) This is NOT a beach-front property. However, it's a very short walk to the public beach at Pundaquit.

If you're okay with these three conditions, then you'll find that Wild Rose Beach Inn is value for money. The facilities seem well-maintained. The rooms are comfortable but sparse. The pool stays open up to 11PM. The noise level was reasonable when we visited. We had no problems finding a trike to get dinner at Casa San Miguel. And our day-trip to Anawangin was arranged hitch-free.

When you combine that with the sincere hospitality of Mama Thess and her staff, our stay here was as fun and encouraging as we hoped it would be.

A friend and myself decided to go on an unplanned trip to Pundaquit, Zambales for a weekday escape from busy schedule at work. Our minds were settled to go to this particular resort but when we get there, we were disappointed with the place and the staff were not that very accommodating. We checked four (4) resorts and all of those resorts.

Wild Rose Beach Inn was the last place we checked and upon entering their resort, we didn't have the chance to leave the place at all. First, this lady (Mama Tess - the owner) welcomed the car with a big smile. Second, when we got out the car, she and staff gave assistance in an instant. When we got there at around 3pm, the power was out and scheduled to resume at 5pm. While waiting for the power to resume, they let us use their cooking area with NO EXTRA CHARGE.

The room is good, enough to sleep in, pool is clean, safe for kiddie swimmer. Mama Tess is very talkative and nice. She offers everything! She talks as if we're not guests, just friends who visited her. Boat ride to island hopping is very nice, personally chosen by the owner. Food is yummy, we had free mango salad and a very delicious-natural mango shake!

What's more cooler was when she showed us her private beachfront place and would even let us use her place for free. Cool lady! We would definitely go back in Wild Rose Beach Inn with our family. Cheap and comfy! Higly recommended place for a getaway!

We stayed for an overnight and it's very relaxing. The caretaker is very helpful as well as the owner. You may bring food and ask them to cook it for you or even store it in their refrigerator. We used the pool without limitation as long as don't bring your bottle of alcohol at the pool. I love the view and the ambiance. it's very quiet and walking distance to the beach area.
i'll surely return in this place.

Room Tip: rooms near the pool for easy access

We arrived in Pandaquit at 8am. Since it was mandate for resorts to check in at 2pm, we had to wait. Lucky enough, we were allowed to check in at 8:30 am instead of 2pm at no extra charge.

The rooms are simple. Enough for just sleeping. The aircon is not so cold some beds are not positioned well for air ventilation.

Food is also simple, nothing special. Just usual home cooked meals.

Service was fine except that they charge you with everything. The staff will take care of everything, including hiring your boat to anawangin and other nearby islands.

They don't allow dealing with other boatmen aside from their own.

The owner is really talkative so be prepared for some lengthy stories.

This is an OK resort at a good price

Me my wife and and my friends arrived at Wild Rose Resort at 10am, April 9, 2010. After reading all the negative stuff about this resort, we prepare ourselves on what we will be expecting co'z our agent book us in here. When we arrived, we notice this little lady who is very energetic and she is talking in the microphone (Mama Thess-owner) tanking this group of 74 vacationer who are headed for home. As we came down from our car this guy (JR) approach us, he immediately welcome us even though check-in time is 2pm. When Mama Tess see us, we are told that we can leave our belonging to the staff-room as we have a schecdule island trip that time. Our trip to Nagsasa and Anawangin Cove (1st day) and Capones and Camara Island (2nd) were great! We got back at the resort about pass 5pm, JR gave us the key of our room. The rooms are nice and the aircons are already on when we enter our rooms. Even though our rooms are on different floors, we are satisfied. Mama Thess is very accommodating and friendly to us including her staff. When its time to go home! all of us go home with a smile on our face. We will not forget this lady who is very funny, accommodating and tell us many stories. I don't know what happen to those people who write the negative stuff about the resort but for me and my friends, we are "OK" with the service and place.

We booked here because we thought it looked new and cheap.
However, upon reaching there, we realized that our rooms were not even cleaned befre handing them over to us!!! ugh!
