Unfortunately this review is not an accurate and true indication of the situation. Perhaps this is because the reviewer did not actually stay at Wilderness Grove.

Wilderness Grove is a small, four suite luxury guesthouse. It is not a function venue. While marquee weddings are held on the lawns very occasionally and only with the express permission of the owners, functions are NEVER held inside the premises.

On this occasion this person's family tried to obtain a free wedding venue by booking the accommodation for the weekend and then went ahead to hold a formal wedding and reception within the guesthouse without the permission of the owners. As the reviewer was not an actual guest of the guesthouse he is perhaps not aware of these circumstances.

In this instance repeated requests to move the 50+ guests outside onto the lawn area were ignored and as a result the guesthouse suffered considerable damage.

The police were called by the owners the next day only when this persons family refused to pay for their accommodation. The police arrived in time as this persons family were driving away from the property. At no time was any person restricted from leaving the property.

The Police intervened insisting the accommodation be paid for under threat of arrest. It was then discovered there were no funds to pay for the accommodation and therefore no intention to pay the bill. The police requested that another family member be called upon to pay for the accommodation.

Unfortunately there is not one true fact in this person's review. We pride ourselves on the excellent service and facilities we provide. We have never before, nor since, received a negative review. We feel that this person is highly misinformed and totally unqualified to provide a review since he did not stay here and is basing his review on heresay from a family member who had no regard for the ‘conditions of stay’ which clearly state that functions are not to be held on the premises.
