“A great place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2013

By chance we were the only people in the guest house and while relaxing in the guest lounge we felt as if we 'belonged' there with all our needs anticipated. The bedroom was of a generous size and very comfortable. The included continental breakfast was excellent and we could have added a cooked breakfast. We will certainly stay there whenever in the Hunter (if there's room). Book well ahead for weekends.

Hi Liz H - I certainly hope there will always be a room for you at Bluebush when you visit the Hunter! Thank you for your honest review Liz, I'm very pleased you felt 'comfortable' staying with us - we certainly attempt to make our guests feel at home. We look forward to welcoming you again soon, maybe for the Christmas lights at the Hunter Valley Gardens which are always quite spectacular? Cheers Linda, Steve and staff @ Bluebush

We recently traveled to Hunter Valley region with another couple and had the great fortune to stay at the Bluebush Estate. We stayed in rooms 5 and 6. The proprietor of the Estate, Linda, was a lovely person and very proud of her property. That pride shone through in the establishment. Every detail was attended to and the B & B was just lovely. We felt right at home from the moment of our arrival. The location is great, the views spectacular and the accommodations wonderful! If we ever have the chance to come back to the area, we will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Room 6 was quite private and had the best views.

I am so glad that on my recent brief stopover in the Hunter Valley that I stumbled across this excellent guesthouse run by the Lovely Linda and her hubby Steve. It surpassed all expectations.
The accommodation is really beautiful and so carefully and lovingly appointed. Linda has such an eye for detail. From the incredible, scenic location, to the excellent continental breakfast, the delightful rooms, comfortable bed and the great service from not only Linda and Steve but also staff members Debbie and Julie, this is a truly wonderful guesthouse. Sitting out on the verandah, gazing out over the vines with a bottle of wine purchased in one of the great wineries close by, could not be more enchanting.
I was going to go on a tour of the Valley but once there, decided to stay put and sleep in, then casually drive around to some of the closer wineries, including Adina and Wandin Valley. Both superb. Restaurants to try (all excellent) are The Deck Cafe, Amanda's on the Edge and Tatler. Apparently Leaves and Fishes is also fantastic but unfortunately closed early in the week.
Do not hesitate to book either the main guesthouse, which has five beautifully appointed rooms or one of the separate cottages, hosting from couples to large groups.
I wish I'd had a night or two longer to enjoy this excellent establishment. I'll be back!

Hi CosmicCarol - many thanks for your very generous review, more importantly thank you for taking the time to also include your experiences at other venues whilst staying in the Hunter, it is very much appreciated. I know your stay was only a short one however you certainly made the most of your time and pleased to see you did get a little 'me' time to relax. Enjoy your travels up north, stay safe and please visit us on your return trip home if the GPS brings you back through the Valley. It was certainly a pleasure meeting you. Cheers Linda, Steve, Debbie and Julie

Would definitely stay here again. We stayed at the Chalet. There were 6 of us (3 bedrooms - each with own ensuite). Many things to do on property although we just relaxed and played pool in the Billiards Room.

The reception was warm and welcoming. The guest house could not be faulted. The rooms second to none. The setting and views superb. I would love to come back with my husband. Would be a very romantic place to stay.

Room Tip: I don't think you could go wrong.

We returned to Bluebush fiorthethird time in asmany years, to again enjoy a relaxed and chill out time. We were welcomed by the new owners who showed engetic seal to make our stay something special. We stayed in the guest house section which contains 5 double bedrooms all with ensuites, but this time had room 2 which is extra large with a king size bed and huge walk in robe. We asked for a dinner venue and were directed to Mojo's just down the road which was just fantastic.
Room decor will need renovation in the near future to remain competitive but the lounge and dining areas are well apppointed with a great family feel about it. Comfy lounges and great outdoor area sets Bluebush apart from the rest. It was so enjoyable we are now considering a group booking for the whole house plus another cottage in 2014.

Room Tip: We have had 2 rooms previously and room 2 would be our suggestion

Hi 'Saggem' - thank you for taking the time to post your review, we appreciate all comments received from our guests especially past visitors. Many guests of Bluebush have dined at Mojos and I must admit never been disappointed, certainly glad to hear your experience was no exception. With any new business there is always going to be a 'to do' list and look forward to showing you around the property when you return next year - we were thrilled to hear you are considering a group booking for 2014. Take care. Linda, Steve and the staff at Bluebush.

Our overnight stay was nice, quiet and comfortable. Room is abit lacking in the wow factor if you are after something special.

Very Friendly host. Could have offered better suggestions for dinner. We were suggested a restaurant which was empty and had large dogs roaming the property. We then googled and found a better restaurant closeby.

We always appreciate feedback from our guests and it was disappointing to hear there were dogs roaming outside the restaurant when you arrived - not very welcoming and I have pointed this out to the owner. Steve and I have owned the business now for 10 months and have many plans / ideas for the property. I hope you will stay or pop in and say hi in the months to come. Cheers Linda
