I often stayed at hotels when visiting Trinidad (Hyatt, Carlton Savannah, etc.) and decided that I wanted to stay somewhere far more personable with character and as a result, chose The Valley Oasis based on the rave reviews on Tripadvisor. I can safely and unemphatically say that The Valley Oasis Inn exceeded my expectation of local hospitality and that it will always be my first choice when staying in Trinidad. The apartment is extremely comfortable and neither I nor my better half wanted to leave!! I literally held back tears when having to depart because the accommodations reminded me so much as to why I plan to return to Trinidad: waking up to plush, green mountain sides, blue skies, chirping birds and the tranquility of Caribbean life (not something to be missed). It was a joy waking up everyday while at The Valley. We had Cable TV, a kitchen for cooking purposes, a fridge to keep our leftovers and take-outs, A/C, a fully accessible and private pool, a washer and dryer and an extremely comfortable bed. The breakfast was ALWAYS fresh and local (from saltfish to Trini-style omelettes and fresh local bread). Arlene always added fresh local fruits (Julie mangoes!) and homemade chocolate cake (my better half's favorite!) to the breakfast menu. We felt safe given the fact that the accommodation is located in a gated-community and it was always quiet and private. In conclusion, this is THE place to stay during your visits to Trinidad.
Arlene and Randy, thank you so so so very much for your warmth and local hospitality (something often lacking at even the most finest and expensive of establishments in Trinidad)!! And we are SO using Sharon's Cakes for any future plans (birthdays, special occasions, weddings). The chocolate cake was delicious. And Arlene, you need to share that recipe for your omelette, eh. Will first patent the recipe, and then share! LOL. Loved and savoured every bite!
We will definitely be back! See you soon!
