“Stay here. Its perfect.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012 via mobile

Stayed here for 4 nights, my husband and I are travelling in south America for 3 months. It was my birthday while I stayed here and they treated us so well. The wine tasting with Santiago is so great. Its free and the conversation just flows with Santiago and the other guests. We had so much fun. Food great. Pool area out the back surrounded by vineyard. Beautiful. Lovely room. Go to this hotel!!

I stayed here 3 nights with a group of people occupying 3 rooms. This is a FABULOUS place to stay. Located well outside the city, this comfortable little villa is easily accessible and in close proximity to the best wineries of Mendoza. Santiago was fabulous organizing various day tours and activities for us. On a couple nights we were so exhausted from the days activities that we just ate at the hotel restaurant which was outstanding. Because of the limited number of rooms, you really do get personalized service and you get to meet your fellow guests at the complimentary 8pm wine tastings. Great place, thank you Santiago!!!!!!!

This was the most fantastic all-round location on our trip around Argentina.

The rooms are all very good, (only 11) around a lovely courtyard, with a beautiful pool looking onto the vineyards and the Andes. The restaurant is superb - genuinely top notch - and every single dish on their menu is made from local, traditional ingredients and is simply scrummy (the goat was a pleasant surprise), The wine list consists mainly of the bodega's own wines (all excellent as well as good value for money). If you want it's only short taxi into town for a change of scenery.

Every night the staff will host a tasting of the bodega's wines before dinner - we became massive converts of the Torrontes grape whilst in Argentina and the house Torrontes is a particularly good example.

The bodega is well located to do the 'Wine Route' - rent a bike, grab a map and cycle along stopping off to do tastings; or the bodega will organise a personalised tour of some of the vineyards further away / better quality vineyards. We only did the former which was cheap and tremendous fun (although the bikes can be of suspect quality - go early to get the pick of the bikes, especially if you're tall!). They wil also organise for pick-up if you want to do white-water rafting / horse-riding etc - make sure you do the full day options as there's a fair amount of travel involved.

The staff were extremely welcoming and we had a wonderful stay at this romantic, quiet getaway; in fact my fiance thought I was going to propose there...but that was still to come!

Room Tip: A bottle of Tapiz's Torrontes by the pool in the afternoon sun after a hard days wine-tasting...

Club Tapiz is a wonderful place to stay when visiting the Mendoza wine region. Just 20mins outside Mendoza town, set amongst grape vines and 100+ year old olive trees, it doesn't get much better.
The hotel itself is understated, quaint and full of character. The staff are attentive, friendly and very helpful, especially cause the speak English (if you are not too great at Spanish... yet!) You can organise just about everything here at Tapiz, from bike hire, wine tours, taxis and dinner (if you choose to eat away from their delectable restaurant.) The nightly wine tasting is fun and a great way to learn, try new wines and meet some of the other guests. Tapiz prides itself on sustainable farming and you will enjoy many, many home made cakes, jams, pickles and fresh ingredients from their local farm. The tour at Tapiz winery is informative and a great way to spend a few hours. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay here and would recommend it to anyone.

If you can, stay in room 3, it has a small balcony on the grass, looking over the vinyard. Plus if you stay in winter (as we did) you will want to enjoy the sunshine from this side. The vinyard view rooms are the only ones that enjoy the sunshine in winter.... you will need it!

Room Tip: As mentioned above, the only room with a small balcony is room 3. I would suggest staying in the vi...

I absolutely loved the place and service provided by the most attentive staff I have ever encountered. The friendliness, quality, restaurant and wine tasting has been very enjoyable.

Thank you so much to Monica and Santiago for your hospitality. Your assistance in organising my tour activities are greatly appreciated.

My girlfriend and I stayed in Mendoza for 4 days to enjoy the food, wine, activities, city etc.

To provide variety we spent 3 nights at Club Tapiz and 1 night at the Park Hyatt in Mendoza city and I wished we'd just stayed at Tapiz.

We arrived first thing in the morning but the staff checked us in immediately and prepared the best room in the resort and let us use the pool and spa while we waited.

The room was very comfortable and clean. Simple, with small personal touches to add charm. The service was great - drinks brought to the pool or to the table out the front of our room and the location - being set amongst the vineyards gave a real flavour of the theme of Mendoza.

The real highlight however was the support they provided with everything outside the hotel. In the afternoon, they arranged a private tour of their own winery (Tapiz) which was a fantastic education in wine and the region. The second day, they arranged a tour of a fantastic mix of vineyards (top quality wines, vineyards with tasting menus for lunch and Mendoza's champagne house - Chandon). This included the provision of a driver who looked after us for the duration of our stay. On our final day, they planned an activity day in the Andes (white water rafting, zip-lining etc). All arranged efficiently and without fuss.

The restaurant was very good quality but would suggest using it for one night and trying some of the other local recommendations (which they will provide).

Definitely a highlight of our tour around Argentina.
