“Not a Pub to have a beer”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2013

A poor (boil in a bag restaurant only. (Chain owned and the worst they run). What I thought was the greatest smoking area EVER has a sign, please refrain from smoking in this area. All seating is for eaters ONLY.forget having a beer.

“Now just called The Poachers”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2013

It's a Marston's pub that does great food and is not too expensive. Portion sizes were generous and service, despite being very busy having just reopened, was good.
The recent refurbishment has meant there is more dining space more outside seating and a wider menu choice. there is Marston's bottled beer as well as hand pull.

“hard and uncooked veg on sunday lunch”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2013

we had sunday lunch at the poachers but were dissappointed with the veg with the roast beef meal ,the carrots and french beans were raw and were not cooked at all ,the cauliflower cheese was cooked,we had to remind the staff that the caulilower cheese was missing and also some wafers were missing from a desert ,To be honest we had a much better lunch at the garden centre restuarant nearby.I hope the management and staff get thier act together and improve the food ,as its a loverly pub in a nice spot.

“Worst meal ever”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2013

We thought we'd try the Poacher's Pocket since the car park is absolutely packed every time we go past. The service was excellent I must say but the food was dreadful. Everything tasted of old vegetable oil. The fish was grey and full of bones. We will not be back. We will stick to the excellent Oak in Glyn Ceiriog.

“Midweek Delight”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2013

We booked the meal at the spur of the moment and as soon as we all walked in through the door. The staff showed us to our table where we were given treats to manage our hunger and they were delicious. I had spare ribs which were tasty and plenty of them. I was in a party of eleven and there was no comments or complaints.

I thought it was an excellent meal and was served with care and attention.
