“Surprised with quality of the food!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2012

We were caught in heavy snowfall while we were exploring the streets of Hirafu during our 1st evening there and ventured into this restaurant. It is situated fairly close to the Hirafu welcome centre near ine of the main roads.

The restaurant had a cozy japanese atnosphere. We tried the Asahikawa ramen with pork, it was great - very succulent pprk slices and great soup base. Go early to avoid long queues later in the evening.

“good ramen, not far from ski lifts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2012

the dosanko ramen, fantastic. You have been warned though, the asahikawa ramen although had great soup is a bigger bowl & could feel 2 (or a small japanese family!) Great place to duck from the snowsports for a good feed! If you come at lunch-ish time, may require a wait though.

“Fantastic yakitori sticks”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2012

This quaint little restaurant is in the basement level - just a wooden door surrounded by deep snow. Authentic, simple food in a very unsophisticated style. Food was excellent, staff laughing and efficient. A variety of yakitori sticks cooked over coals. It was a favourite meal of our trip.

“Comfort food for a cold winter day”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 25, 2011

We ordered the house special - Asahikawa Ramen which we found to be a extremely yummy but a tad oily. Prices for ramen from about JPY 750.
They also serve donburi as well. Everything tasted fresh and service was friendly.

English menu is available.

Shop is located in the Upper Village with a souvenir shop upstairs (opp Piz Gloria)
