“Fabulous position on river with stunning views and excellent food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2014

This was our second stay at this lovely quirky hotel and I m please to say that the service of the staff has greatly improved over the last two years, specifically the reception staff as now they speak perfect English and are pleased to see you and are extremely friendly and very helpful.
This hotel is really quirky and something different to the norm with chabby chic furniture and bedrooms painted in a roman baths/ nautical design in blue and purple. very different!
Most rooms overlook the river as this property was a massive old mill house and was built right on top of the river so it has stunning river views both up river and down.
Food was excellent and well presented and we had asked to upgrade to the half board meal plan which meant fabulous value for money.
We stayed here both times on our way back from Spain rather than stay in Toulouse and it is well worth a visit.

We booked a suite that was on sale on line with a very good breakfast included. The price was low. It was about half of big city prices. The rooms were spacious and comfortable with a nice view of river Tarn. The large bath had a very elaborate body spray system that didn't work but the overhead and wand were fine. That was the only slight negative. The town is easy to walk and drive.
Moissac has arguably the finest Romanesque cathedral tympanum carvings and cloister capitals in the world. If you are at all interested in that sort of art. Moissac is a very uncrowded and restful home base to use while visiting albi and Toulouse. Albi has the Lautrec museum and the largest brick cathedral. The whole area is interesting and accessable from moissac within 1-1/2 hour drives.
Special recommendation ----- best tip ever-----------------eat at Le Fromage Rit . It will be one of the finest meals you have in France. 4 courses in a cheese shop. Doesn't sound like much? No it doesn't, but It is ! Furthermore it alone is worth the trip to moissac and will be the least money you have ever spent on an unbelievable meal.
You're welcome.

Dear Sir Crewe,

I thank you above all to have devoted a little of your time in order to inform us of your comments concerning your last stay.
Your satisfaction is our main objective. In our quality approach we try unceasingly to improve our products and services.

Please receive our excuses for the annoyances met at the time of your passage in our hotel.
During your stay, having had a preoccupation with the staff, the receptionnists had to serve at the bar the afternoon and to occupy at the breakfast the morning, which makes they could not be present constantly at the desk. Thing which we solved.
As regard the catering service, I am pleased to inform you a new restaurant manager and a new kitchen chief joined our team recently and prepared a nex menu which should charm the taste buds.

We should be pleased to welcome you in our hotel for a next stay and hope you will enjoy a better time.

Best regards

Its difficult to form an opinion of this hotel. Starting with the positives - the room was ready for us, despite the fact that we arrived early, the views along the Gironde are stunning, the food in the restaurant is excellent and the staff are very helpful and courteous.

On the other hand.........the hotel has just be redecorated in a rather strange style - best described as Roman tomb meets Indian palace. The rooms have 'artisan' furniture that looks like it was picked up in a junk shop - clearly intended to give a chic impression, but I would prefer drawers that open and handles that stay on and not fall off. Our room had a steam cabinet, which was great, but needed a degree to operate. Anyone failing to do so, would not even be able to have a shower or bathe (no bath, just the steam cabinet). I asked reception for instructions and was offered an instructional manual in French and the words "good luck!". Fortunately, the control panel can be switched to English where the technical terms are more decipherable. Lastly, the menu in the restaurant had an a la carte menu with a secondary header "Menu, une , use plat et une desert, Euro 43" However, having eaten our food we were told this was "not applicable" and we were charged Euro 116 for the two of us, not the Euro 86 we were expecting.

Altogether an expensive stay.

One of the Relais du Silence group hotels which was not that quite due to its overlooking river Tain. However what a great location with fabulous views up the river both sides. Room was comfortable and well presented and good value.
Restaurant served good food and the breakfast was the best we had had in France during our 10 day visit.
Town of Moissac well worth visiting having very old church and cloisters.

Room Tip: Request a room furthest over river for view.

We booked for one night in this hotel as an en route stopover from St Malo to our home in southern France after the Christmas holidays. An important consideration is always secure parking, particularly as the car was likely to be loaded with very visible presents and other purchases.
After a 760km drive, we were pretty tired and looking forward to an hour or two of 'feet up' prior to a leisurely dinner and a good night's stay. We checked in and went up to the room.
At 17.00, it hadn't been serviced. Back to Reception, where after much shock horror and checking of clipboards, the suggestion was made that we have a drink in the bar while the problem was dealt with. "Just 10 minutes" was the plea.
It would never have been 10 minutes - more like 30 minimum and we declined and left immediately. My experience is that if something as fundamental as the servicing of a room can go wrong, then there's a problem with the hotel. Add to that, you as clients are liable to end up nit-picking over other small things. We opted to press on for home and made it four hours later.
Obviously this shouldn't have happened, whether the room was reserved for a client or ready for a walk-in one. Our impression of (what we saw of) the hotel was one of 'faded glory', hardly likely to be deserving of a cost of over €200 for room & dinner.
Give it a miss I'd say, but the secure parking looked good! Better check my card a/c to make sure they haven't charged me.

Stayed on a Sunday night. Hotel looked rather dark and mournful and not very welcoming on arrival but we had prepaid so decided to stay!
The whole place is rather worn but has a certain charm about it despite a permeating smell of chlorine emanating from the spa in the basement.
The room was ok with a half view of the river. Nice touches such as a Nespresso machine and a lavender pillow misting spray!!
BUT ..... Why oh why, in an almost empty hotel, put your only guests in adjacent rooms!! Is it to save on heating or to save the chambermaid's legs or just plain bad hotelmanship?
Our neighbour had a hacking cough and a high pitched voice and seemed to want to chat loudly to her partner half the night! So frustrating when you are in a hotel to get a good night's sleep for a long journey the next day.
Dinner was good though!

Room Tip: Not near anyone else!!
