“Probably Time For Change At The Top”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2012

Robert and Janet did a lot for the town, and prior to their arrival (circa 1982), there was very little to do and nowhere nice to go.

However, thirty years in the licensing trade have taken their toll and salt of the earth types - of which there are quite a few in Lutterworth - are no longer really wanted (who can blame them?).

A riot in its day - perhaps time for gentler pastures.

we have been staying at the greyhound for the past 8 years. we use it as a base, we are a fishing club from sheffield and stay every september over a weekend. The staff are very professional, and the chefs just can not do enough for you, the food in my opinion is nothing short of 5 star could even be michelin standard, if i win the lottery i will take my whole family as a treat . The owner Rob is a very nice person which rubs off on his staff , so thanks again Robert and all the staff and i simply can't wait for next september............. Dave T senior

Booked a room here for Sat 30th July. On my booking it said ground floor room but when given the keys the receptionist said its "up three flights of stairs". I where disappointed because I do suffer with a bad knee and there wasnt a lift. I was told that it was the only room left so I had no choice but to take it, was just glad it were for one night only. We went up the first two flights of stairs and then was met with a wooden staircase that was steep too steep!!Our room was up in the eaves of the roof and didnt have double glazing, so was quite noisy in the early hours. Didnt bother going for breakfast but looking at the plates that where left on tables when we were checking out, made me think it wasnt that good. As we walked into the reception area we had to wait because some guy was complaining about his stay. Felt like complaining myself but just wanted to get out the place. On the plus side we did go across the road for the evening to a pub called The Shambles. The food was excellent and the landlord and lady where fantastic hosts, if ever we should need B&B in Lutterworth we definately would stay there.

My partner and I recently stayed in one of the four poster rooms at the The Greyhound and had a wonderful time from start to finish. The bedroom was beautiful with everything you needed and more in the room, the only thing I could really fault was it was quite noisy as it was on the main road, but this could not be helped. The staff were very friendly on both check in/ out and during breakfast, which was delicious. The setting was beautiful and we will definitely find an excuse to return to this wonderful hotel.

Room Tip: The four poster room is definitely recommended! Brilliant value for money!

Recently stayed at The Greyhound and couldn't fault it. Excellent room, fab food, (chef made special effort when he found out I was vegetarian) very friendly staff and so pleasant to get such a warm welcome for our dog, Charlie.
We are planning to return to stay the next time we are in the area.
Can't recommend highly enough.

Excellent family run hotel.
Owner (Robert) almost always around.
Staff can't do enough to help any requests you may have
Rooms very comfotable, nicely furnished & decorated
Wine selection is varied, good quality without being over the top expensive.
Best food I have had anywhere in the UK for comparable cost.
(& I am constantly travelling all over the UK)

Would reccommend highly

Just stayed one night passing through. Fabulous place, staff very friendly and food and beer excellent. Courtyard would be fantastic for al fresco dining - if it ever stops raining. Can recommend the four poster in room 3. Couldn't fault anything.

Room Tip: Can recommend the four poster in room 3
