“Fantastic holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2013

We spent a lovely two weeks holiday at Santa Margherita in September 2008. The room we had was very rustic but in a very positive way. The views from our terrace were fantastic, we spent many many evenings sitting there, drinking italian cheap wine, reading books and just watching the beautiful scenery. The breakfasts, which were included in the cost of our stay, were OK. I have to mention the pools as well that during our stay were almost private - the place was almost empty.
Agriturismo is really in the middle of nowhere so if we fancied a nice meal/coffee in the evening etc, a longer journey was required but that was ok for us. Also you have to bear in mind no aircon in the rooms - again I felt the fan was good enough.
I truly feel this was my best holiday so far, so perfectly relaxing and full of beautiful memories of all the places we visited in Sicily.

Maybe a little difficult to find ...(up the hills so make sure your car has powerful motor !) but the view is just perfect ! Friendly people and the food is fantastic !
We had no airco and it was very, very hot....just one word and the next day the airco was installed and working !

Room Tip: The rooms are scattered all over the domain so it depends if you want to walk a little for breakfast...

After a long drive we found this hidden gem. We were welcomed with a bottle of fabulous homemade wine, delicous antipasti and a spectacular cinnamon liquor. Afterwards we were guided to our appartment directly on the pool with a breathtaking view of the beautiful bay and the aeolian islands. And all that for a more than fair price. Grazie mille Fabio e Christina. See you next time!

It was difficult to find at first, but just because we were blind and didn't see the posters all across the town directing to Santa Margherita on top of the hill which overlooks the Aeolian Islands and Gulf of Patti - a view worth a million dollars!
The night itself was a blast - it was the Sicilian Night Theme and we were amazed on how tasty the food and funny the entertainers-singers were. Enjoyed it a lot - the best night out of our 10-day Sicilian trip.
Would recommend it to anyone who is up for an outstanding Sicilian experience, delicious food and warm staff. Keep on going!

The food was simply delicious and highly abundant. The prices are very reasonable. The restaurant has a arm and welcoming environment and employees are very helpful. A very good first experience of Agriturismo.

We've stayed there twice, once in 2008 and once just now in May 2012. Good points:
The view is stunning
The setting is very peaceful, fresh mountain/sea air etc..
Nice set up for kids: farm animals to see, swings/slides, swimming pool, gardens etc.
The food is really very very good - although we had booked bed and breakfast, we ended up eating every meal in our weekend stay there. Wine and home made licquers included.
Very friendly and helpful (and reasonable) personnel.

And the negatives?
The rooms are 'rustic' - our room had a rough stone wall. Some people will find that charming (as we did), others might wish they were in a Best Western instead(!). There was a slight smell of damp - but I think this comes with the thick old fashioned walls, we didn't see any mould in the room.
Our room was missing a couple of things that would make a summer stay more comfortable: mosquito nets on the windows and aircon. However, I must say that the stone walls probably keep out most of the heat unless it's August. And we didn't get bitten by mosquitos (although we were generous with the mosquito repellent).
And the location: You will need a car and GPS. It's about 10-15 mins drive from the highway, and you will spend 5-10 of those minutes going up winding mountain roads to get there. There is some signposting and there are at least two ways to get up there - one harder on the clutch and gears than the other. Still, most of the guests had underpowered fiat Pandas and managed to get up there ok!

Room Tip: The most recently renovated rooms are in the main complex above the dining room. We were told that...
