We stayed for 5 nights at this hotel, the architectural design outside is wonderful, so is the lobby and the SkyBar. Given the title of tallest hotel in Scandinavia, newly built and it's promo Stay 3 Pay 2 made me decided to choose this hotel.
This is officially a business hotel and might be used by businessmen working or affiliated with Ericcson Mobile as it is located near the too many buildings of the said company. The owner or the management must have taken the big risk about the location but it's ok to stay there during summer, I can't imagine walking all the way from either Helenelund or Kista stations during the freezing winter nights/days to the hotel, unless you have your own car or taking taxi every time. And the area just beside the hotel, awwwww looks like it's a dead city. You have to walk through the Kista Galleria to see a life, at least.
When I entered the room, (at the corner of 22nd floor, same floor of gym & sauna, nice!) I was looking for a minibar so I can put the red wine that we can share for our 5th anniversary, but oh, no other rooms have minibar according to the man who answered the phone. Well, just to say that this is the 1st time I stayed in a hotel without minibar :-( then I looked for bedroom slippers, face towel, toiletries, pen or pencil to write down some notes, laundry bag, but just disappointed again :-( The bulb on the right side of the bed's night lamp doesn't work :-(
Room was clean, cozy, soft pillows, nice bed so I took a nap first. When I took the shower, I have noticed that the shampoo/shower gel dispenser is not yet installed so it was just placed at the top of the soap holder ;-) I thought its funny though.... There is no place to put my cosmetics bag as the sink and the rest of the areas are too small, I have no choice as I need to put make-up on so I close the lid of the toilet bowl to put my cosmetic bag, et voila!
At around 10PM or 11PM every night, we can hear some water noise gushing at the top (like the AC screen) and thinking water may drip on the room before midnight, tsunami tomorrow LOL
Breakfast was great and plenty of food selection but all the same everyday, the old lady (pardon me, please) is very friendly at the restaurant and greeting and checking on every guest if they were okay, other staff are just busy cleaning the tables or replacing the food.
Reception staff are really nice, helpful and smiling. They explain all my queries with ease and sometimes, with illustrations, especially about the whereabouts of the airport or town. Weird is the staff at the gym/sauna. I saw him there 3 times but never said hi/hello as if I don't exist. He is staring at the glass wall most of the time and occassionaly smiling alone, wondering if he was daydreaming. I even asked myself if he is a staff or a guest like me LOL Staff at the SkyBar appears so busy as well and didn't bother to greet us when we were there!
Overall, it was a nice stay but won't go back again. I will try other Scandic Hotels as there are plenty in Stockholm anyway. Not recommended for couples, friends or family.
