“Best meal of our trip!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2012

This Michelin one-star restaurant is a real feast for the senses. The experience starts with a walk through beautiful vegetable and herb gardens to our private room - beautifully decorated. We were a party of 18 and the service was impeccable. From the very first amuse bouche through multiple courses, everything was a delicate blend of fantastic flavours. Our visit was a real treat.

“Really enjoyed this diner even is service was not up to what you could expect”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2011

For a birthday we have chosen to go for a one star Michelin restaurant.
Le chateau d Audrieu is very nice.
The restaurant itself is not particularly nice as it is composed of three different rooms.
The consequence is that for service you are always out of sight of the waiters.
So you must wait… until one of them will come to the room.
The little room we were in was a little uncomfortable as you could hear very well all chats at all tables as the room was small and had not music.
The food was good and I really enjoyed very much the desert.
It is more traditional than some other one Michelin star restaurant.
The wine list is really great and affordable.

I would really recommend the place, not in the smallest room but preferably in the middle one.

“Wanted a splurge; we were delighted”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2011

While staying in Bayeux, we wanted a treat for dinner. I found the Château in my 1997 version of Fodor’s. We were very pleased.

Walking in to the restaurant/hotel is a little odd: there is no obvious entrance, and when one follows the signs for the restaurant, one walks right into one of the dining rooms. We had a reservation, though it didn’t seem necessary that night, we were told we could look around the restaurant and pick which table where we wanted to be seated. It’s a funny feeling while people are dining and speaking softly to start looking into each room, but, we picked the table we wanted.

I don’t recall if there was a fixed price menu; looking at the receipt, it appears that we may have eaten à la carte – we both started with the seasonal asparagus, I had lobster and my husband the veal. We both had dessert. Of course we also had the requisite coupe de champagne to start, bottled water with dinner and we asked them to pair wine with our meals. I thought they did a beautiful job with the wine pairing – and it was very reasonably priced at 25 euros for each of us, and that was three glasses (entrée, plat & dessert) of lovely wine each.

The chef came out after dinner and chatted with most of the tables. He stayed with us even with our broken French and told us where he was from and where he got his training. It was charming.

I would highly recommend this experience.

Three course meal, 80 euros per person – without any drinks. We spent 283 euros for two people with aperitif, wine with dinner, bottled water and coffee.
