“Pleasant Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2014

Stayed at this hotel's apartment for a month. The apartment was huge and comfortable. It was also packaged with many facilities such as a kitchen, washing machine, dryer, wifi and television with various channels. My favourite japanese restaurant is nearby this apartment too. Around 5 minutes if you are driving. If you are walking then maybe it will take 15-20 minutes.

This apartment is quite far from the kuala beliat town. But if you are staying at the main hotel room, then it is located at the town. Therefore, there will be no problem finding food or daily necessity items. Helpful staff (you can ask help for anything, they will help you if they can)

I have stayed at the Sea View a few years ago and last year the Sentosa, I checked the reviews and decided to give this place a try. I booked it through HRG and they managed to screw up my booking as they had me arriving a month later, so no reservation, but I got a room no problem and a very nice one it was too, basic, minimal but functional.
I didn't much go for the call to prayer in the early hours, the hotel has single glazing which made the rooms noisy.
I didn't eat in the Hotel as they have an Italian Restaurant and because of it being a Muslim country there wasn't any pork on the menu. Sorry but beef and chicken salami on pizzas don't appeal, so I ate local, you have a wide selection of eating places and for £10 you can feast.
The foyer is functional and very modern and smartly laid out, the staff were friendly and very helpful, the hotel also has a number of conference rooms.
Parking is pot luck around the town, there is no dedicated parking belonging to the hotel and most days you will end up with a parking ticket, which the hotel staff will take care of for you.
On the whole not bad, best I've tried yet in KB.

Room Tip: Rooms away from the mosque are quietest, one tip I was given, staying in a hotel is fine, but don...

I stayed here for one night. Not good, but not bad either. I didn't had breakfast so I can't judge about that. The room I stayed was deep but not very wide. The bathroom was small but had some mold issue (like a lot of bathrooms have due to ventilation problems). The wifi was fine. The bed was fine, but the linnen were outdated. Some stains on the wall etc. As I said, it is an average hotel and expensive considering the quality of the room. The "free" two drinks and snacks is nice, but for $10 they could have really filled up the fridge... I am not sure if I would take this hotel again. I prefer the Radisson Brunei and drive the 1,5 hour...

The reception staff were helpful and welcoming. The room was clean, decent size and provided a quiet environment for sleeping. Complimentary fruit available at common fruit bowl on each level. The mini bar is also complimentary and re-stocked daily (consists of 1 x pack of peanuts, 2 x mini chocolate bars, a can of pepsi, a can of lemon tea, 1 x cup noodle, 2 x pack-of-3-cookies) The Wifi connection is patchy however that's a common issue in Brunei. Although choice for accommodation is limited in Kuala Belait, happy to stay in Swiss Hotel again if required.

For 130 Brunei Dollars a day you'll have only breakfast and complimentary apples in the lobby/corridors. There is no pool or any other recreational facility. Centre of the town, just on the main street, but it makes the room noisy day time. All the restaurants around are very expensive, as everything in this counrty due to oil/gas companies and their well paid employees. Better choose Sea View hotel by the sea, it is cheaper because more far from centre and it has swimming pool, but do not go to the beach, it is dirty and full of sand flies.

I've been there for a biz travel, staying foe almost a week. The hotel is well mamaged, rooms atre big enough, clean, servicdes are good. Personnel are a littel bit "shy", if you want just to feel free in your staying they're ok :-)
Dowstairs the Prego Mauri restaurant provides breakfast (good and often inluded) and a good solution for an Italian dinner.

I stayed here for 1 night. Nice, spacious and clean as compared to some other hotels in KB! I'm making the trek to KB again tomorrow but unfortunately I couldn't get a room here. Breakfast is nothing to shout about.
