This hotel is definetly worth the money. My friend got married at this hotel and the accomodations are gorgeous. The pool is to die for. Food is great. Staff spoke fluent english which was very helpful! Everything was clean. They have a great back area for weddings.

Truly truly awful!!! I have stayed in many hotels around the world and in Turkey.....Where do I start. First off I should have listed to all the other TA reviewers and not booked here but thought I would take a chance. There is not a single thing good about this place. At $300 US a night I can recommend many better options!

Check in - rude is all I need to say. Felt like they didn't even want us to stay. Attitude. Nevermind taking your entire reservation fee up front. They know you will probably check out if they don't.

Not a single staff member speaks an ounce of English. As in they couldn't even make a reservation for dinner for us in town or call us a cab.

Beach - the size of my children's backyard sandbox

Wifi - doesn't work anywhere in the hotel

Location - in the middle of nowhere - can't walk to anything - Alacati - $15 US each way....Cesme .....$30 US each way

Drinks - $15 US for a lousy bottle of beer

AC in room didn't work

Screaming kids everywhere

View - again, middle of nowhere......I was sold on that beautiful shot that I am sure many of us have seen in advertising.......false advertising......that photo was taken maybe when the place was first open.....the umbrellas are now yellow and the place looks like a run down 1 star hotel..

Don't stay here....stay closer to Cesme and do a day trip to Alacati village!!!

Just returned from a week at The Solto. First, what was good about it - great weather, very clean hotel, very attentive service in restaurant, very good food, large well equipped room, nice beach and pool, close to town of Alicati where we ate most nights as only on b&b package, good spa, in particular the Turkish Bath. Downside - some parts of hotel looking tired, e.g. Sun beds and canopies, only had hot water on one occasion in a week, rest of the time was lukewarm after running the taps for 10-20 mins, no water sports from hotel (they could have some canoes or something), spa is very over- priced (said Turkish Bath was 60 so we paid in liras, only then to be told price was in Euros), and no information in the hotel in English. Some staff do speak some English so you can be understood.
This is definitely not a 5-star hotel, more a 4. We had a pleasant stay but it wasn't the luxury we normally expect from 5-star prices.

Room Tip: Choose a room away from the pool. Can avoid noise from pool area and the occasional wedding celebrat...

We are visiting this hotel for a 5th time this year, since we windsurf at the spot nearby. Over the years, the hotel is gradually getting worse. The fish restaurant was closed, and a pool bar sold to become Sess night club. This year we are visiting Solto with our small son (2,5 years) and the loud music at night is very annoying. It is surprising that we didn't have something like a warning note when shall we expect loud music and until what time. We were not suggested to change the room to the one with more distance from the night club.
The food quality is good, the pool is clean, but the beach territory must be cleaned better - we found empty bottles and glasses from the parties at the night club every morning.
Upon arrival, front manager suggested that we pay the total for our stay in cash, although it was already paid by credit card.

Room Tip: Stay away from rooms 167-169-267-269, as they are closest to the night club.

Positive experiences:
- excellent food
- aesthetic and elegant building & hotel area
- comfortable mattress & cussions at our room
- good connection with public transport / Dolmus

Negative Experiences:
- Music @ the Pool: loud & no good music style (only one style of music all day long)
- Music @ the Beach: far too loud & no good music style (only one style of music all day long). Music of hotel pool & beach overlapped, so that guests get a stereo-infusion of 2 different, loud songs. It seemed like there was a competition between beach and hotel.
- Party @ the Beach in the night: not acceptable, very loud

- Smell of cesspit during the night and sometimes also during the day

- Employees @ the Beach: so unfriendly, that we preferred to spend our days at another beach

- Employees @ the hotel: variied from unfriendly to quiet friendly. As we booked our holidays at an international booking company, we expected english speaking staff. At our surprise this was not the case. Our arrival at the reception was handled very unprofessional. No well-trained staff available.

- Room Service: not consistent in quality. Dirty linnen was not changed every time, small towels too. Bath sink was cleaned not good enough for a 5-star-hotel. It was not possible to get the promised water boiler for cooking some tea at the room. Only 1 chair at the terrace.

- All Inclusive: we booked "All-Inclusive" with the description of "Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks from 10 am to 12 pm", but had to pay extra for cocktails and some other drinks.

- W-Lan/Wifi: not consistent, sometimes no possibility to connect at all

- dirty environment / surrounding: at the left side of the beach there was a kind of garbage deposit. Outside the hotel area, we found a lot of waste thrown away carelessly. The beach wasn´t cleaned from waste and algaes.

In summary the hotel is not on a 5-star-level.

Room Tip: Don´t take rooms with seaview, as they are facing the beach with the discotheque
