My husband and I stayed in a 1 bedroom suite for a week in June. It had a nice sized living room area with a small "dining table" and 2 single beds that you could sit on as "couches". The bedroom area had a king sized bed, closet with a safe, and folding doors to give you privacy from the living room. The bathroom was pretty standard. There was almost no one at the resort while we were there, so we had the place to ourselves. They had a pretty decent workout room, a nice pool, a spa, 4 tennis courts, and of course, golf.
The resort is about 2 blocks from the beach and they provide a beach shuttle to take you to their private beach club. That was the best part. The beach club is very big with lots of shade trees and many places to sit or lay down. There is also a bar and a small pool at the club. You have to walk down the stairs to get to the beach area. There is also a bar on the beach and many places to sit (either in the sun or in the shade). The beach is nice-a mixture of black sand and your typical tan colored sand. There was almost no one on the beach the whole time we were there (this time of year is considered their rainy season). You could walk on the beach for a few miles. There were lots of sea shells to collect and the water was warm, too.
The restaurant served pretty good food and it was very reasonably priced. Most of the time, we were the only ones in the restaurant. Service was a little slow, but we were prepared for that. They are adding a conference center to the resort and are relocating the reception area to the other side of the hotel, so there is construction going on. They said it would be about a year before it was done.
The resort staff were very nice and friendly, but they didn't speak real good English. Also, be prepared that there is nothing to do at the resort (besides relax) if you are not a golfer. There are no activities provided by the resort and the town of Coronado is about 3 miles away. This is not a "tourist" destination. This is an "upscale" community and you are surrounded by residential houses (beautiful ones, I might add).
All in all, a very nice stay if you are there to relax and not be bothered by others. If you are looking for a "party atmosphere", this probably isn't the place for you.
