One arrives at t his restaurant by turning into the main road of Coronado, pass the Super 99 and El Rey entrances and continue along until you come to this restaurant on the left.
First, I will admit that I am a "clean" nut - especially with chicken preparation and cooking in my kitchen, and like to have that same assurance in in
a restaurant. I did not order the chicken rotisserie style because I am anxious about salmonella and believe chicken has to be handled correctly, carefully and has to be cooked correctly to the degree of "doneness".
While the rotisserie chicken looks wonderful on a diner's plate, what I noticed was that raw chicken was placed on the rotisserie near chicken that was almost finished cooking and as the spit turned, the juices of the raw chicken could drip on the nearly finished chicken. So I didn't choose this.
My husband and I ended up getting a casserole type chicken dish with rice baked in an ovendish with some small cut up veggies. I figured that there was no way this chicken wasn't thoroughly cooked and I was able to not think about salmonella. This dish was very tasty, along wth the salad they served.
It was quite loud with piped-in instrumental music in the restaurant even though we were the first to arrive that evening. I would have liked the music to be lowered as it is a dining restaurant. We ate inside in the open-air room and was very comfortable. They do have another room completely airconditioned if you mind the warm air. We like the hot weather so this was not a problem. There are also some table and chairs on the side of the restaurant for actually sitting outside.
The restaurant did get quite busy, and it appears to have a "local" following mainly with a few tourist type couples mixed and one family.
It is helpful that the menu is in English and Spanish as they get many travelers in this area.
The menu is reasonably priced.
