We were staying in Götznerhof with my boyfriend in January 2013. Booked a package deal from Crystal ski. When arriving to the hotel and entering our room noticed the room was very unupdated with dirty carpet and lack of cleanliness also in bathroom. When having shower first time had to clear the shower cabinet drainage myself since water was not flowing down the drain leaving me standing in water. Bed head was loose and managed to get it off the place by just hanging some clothes on it.
Couple of days it was alright, just food slightly repetitive but then we discovered something horrible - cockroaches! On Tuesday evening while I was at the buffet bar I noticed a cockroach walk out from underneath the kitchen door. I immediately called the waitress over by which time the cockroach had gone under the hot counter. She went into the kitchen to talk to the cook. Then the cockroach reappeared and I called the waitress again from within the kitchen. She came out and saw it and then went to get a tissue to grab it apologising at the same time to us saying "sorry". After this I found sleeping quite hard as I was concerned that cockroaches may spread to our room. On Thursday morning we were having breakfast and started noticing dead and docile cockroaches on the dining room floor. We alerted the waiter this time and he embarrassingly went around the floor picking them up. Still a few were left afterwards. The cook who I believe also does the maintenance of the hotel, and looks rather dirty, then approached our table somewhat grumpy as he had seen us doing this. He explained to us that an extermination company had been in and had laid poison, and that there was nothing he could do. He then offered to show us around if we didn't believe him. We politely declined the offer and he walked away muttering something in Austrian and looking annoyed. On Thursday evening there was still cockroaches in the dining area and a child went to pick up a soup bowl and found a dead cockroach in it! This was hurriedly removed by the waitress and taken into the kitchen. Later on when we were in the bar I noticed a dead cockroach in the toilets and when I returned to our room there was a cockroach walking across the dining room floor as I walked through to the accommodation area. On Friday morning we were walking down to get our ski's from the basement locker room and there was a live cockroach on the wall of the staircase. The cook/maintenance person happened to be walking up past us and we pointed it out to him and he went to get a tissue to remove it. On Friday evening there was still dead cockroaches in the dining area when we were having our meal.
The next thing was the poor internet service provided that was virtually impossible to get a reliable connection unless you went into the restaurant bar area and so that you were within line of sight of the router. There was also a peculiar system of having to get a printed ticket from the bar every time you wanted to go onto the internet which gave you a username and password to type into the opening page when you opened your web browser. This page frequently did not appear when you went into your web browser and many attempts were required before a connection could be made. We brought this up with hotel staff and they just replied it must be your wifi settings. It was not.
I also would like to raise concerns about the hotel bar and teenagers nightclub. When we arrived on the Saturday there was a disco in the basement of the hotel called 'Kellerbar'. This disco carried on all night until approximately 4 o'clock in the morning. There was a constant thump, thump, thump, as the building vibrated to the disco music, and you laid in your bed trying to get some sleep.
Further to this the hotel bar is used as a local drinking den for the towns youths. We were in the bar on the last night and it was totally taken over by them. They were having play fights with the decorations. Yelling drunk whilst playing darts and took over the music system ramping the volume right up and clearing the guests from the bar. The barmaid made no attempt to quiet them down and was not in control. She even seemed to be enjoying the fun always laughing along with it whilst it seemed having a lit cigarette permanently attached to her lips. They even started having what I believe is called the bar-mans chair competition where you put your head under the beer tap as another youth operates it. Eventually I left once it was clear it was getting out of control with drunk people coming up to you singing along with the music.
After long correspondence with Crystal ski we managed to get some compensation of our trip price but still can say, never going to that place another time and can not recommend for others either!
