“Disappointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2013

It was the landlord's anniversary night....so hopefully the explanation was that they had a guest chef for the night? That would be the only thing l can think of to explain the difference between the other reviews and our experience!

“If you like asian food you are in for a treat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2013

Although we have at least six adequate indian restaurants in the town none compare to Wednesdays Asian night at the Coach & Horses. I have only tried the curry meals which are superb and very much authentic You need to book early (I have also had takeaway which I very much enjoyed)

“Number 1 in billericay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2013

4 of us had another good meal
starters 2 x Butternut soups £3.50 each very good
main: 2 x steak n mushroom puddings (£10.95 each) served with good portion of peas n mash/sauté potatoes, very tender meat but base was tough(for a steamed pudding) 1 x stilton/celery chicken(£8.25) with sauté pots and selection of veg, needed a touch more stilton(for persons taste) as the celery was a bit over powering, 1 x chicken Karahi with rice and nan bread (£7.95) tasty.

4 x Carlsberg £13.20 4 x macabeo (175mm) white wine £15.20 1/2 coke £1.30 1 Tea 1 coffee
total £77.40
service was a bit slow but it was fairly busy and suited us,
will use again for mid-week meal, and Wednesday night for curry's looks very good value and was fully booked

“Perfect Pub Grub”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2013

Visted on a Thursday evening and had the lamb curry which was delicious. Often go in for a roast on a Sunday which is always excellent. Very popular and very busy so you need to book but definitely worth the visit.

“Absolutely Perfect Again!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2013

Just had yet another spot on meal in The Coach. We had the Sunday roasts - beef/lamb and chicken - really generous portions and very tasty. Also the Thai/Indian themed night on a Wednesday is so authentic that in my opinion its better than most of the Curry houses in town. The Chicken Tikka and slow cooked lamb curry is especially impressive.

The selection of real ale is really varied and very very well kept. Can't recommend it enough!
