“Nice Bachrlor with full kitchen and slope view”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

Checked in last minute with my wife on a Saturday afternoon. Wasn't expect to get anything nice. But surprisely the room is very clean and we can checked in immediately.

Full Kitchen and everything is working fine, free undergroupd parking. Grand Georgian is the middle of everywhere. Great location but quiet too. Also Home keeping is very fast on any of my request.

Little surprise is that the front desk lady (Christine) gave us a bottle of wine and chocolate as a welcome gift.

Staying at any of the villiages at Blue will be cheaper than staying at Westin around 20%-30% but the experience are just as good.

I really enjoyed my stay at The Grand Georgian. We stayed in a 1 bedroom village suite with a king bed. The suite itself was clean, updated (flat screen tvs) and well kept. The gas firepalce was a nice touch. The kitchenette was well stocked and fully equiped. Our bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds I have ever slept in.

Staff were helpful and friendly, helping to add to our pleasant experience.

The location was great, being right in the heart of the Village, all restaurants and shops were within a short walk.

I would highly reccommend staying here to anyone.

The room was very nice, the location in the village was great but did get noisy at night being infront of the irish pub and night club. The staff service was high. Housekeeping could be better, they didn't clean the room. Instead just asked if we needed new towels and soap (which was missing when we got to the room in the first place). The hotel has a video game room my son liked. I paid $40 extra to check out at 7pm which was great.

Dear GlobalJets,

Thank you for your generous comments regarding your latest experience staying with us at Blue Mountain Resort. The rooms that are located nearest to the nightlife can be a bit noisy at times making a location facing away from the Village a better choice if nightlife is not of interest. We are sorry that our housekeeping services were not made clear to you; normal service is referred to as “Towels & Trash” or a “Daily Refresh”. This means we provide fresh towels unless directed by our guest not to, empty the trash and restock items such as soaps and coffee. Following the 3rd night of stay, we do a full clean, replacing bed linens, dusting, vacuuming and cleaning washrooms etc.

Thanks again for your very helpful feedback and we hope to see you again soon.

Regards,
On behalf of Blue Mountain Resorts Limited

What a wonderful stay we had! The Grand Georgian far exceeded all that I had hoped for! Our room was large ( very similar to a small condo ) with a large kitchen ( fully equipped ) and open concept living room with a large dining table, gas fireplace and medium size balcony. This room had plenty of storage and a HUGE, WONDERFUL bed! We stayed three nites and I slept better in this bed than I have slept in my life. It had the most wonderful mattress, down pillows and duvet with fresh, crisp linens. The bdrm had a separate bathroom with doors leading to both the bdrm and living space. This was absolutely ideal for us, since we had traveled with our small child and did not want to wake her during nap and early bed time.

The room had two flat screen televisions and comfortable furniture. There is not one complaint that I could possibly have about our room or our stay at The Grand Georgian. We loved it!

Other tips:

- The pool in our lodge was great ( private to the public ) and we went quite a few times. It was a popular pool, but not too overcrowded.

- We were in the perfect location in The Village: Centrally placed, in the midst of it all. And, I loved that we were right next door to Starbucks!

- This trip, we decided to take advantage of using the shuttle and private "beach" area provided with our hotel stay. It was a fairly nice location with chairs, umbrellas and beach toys included. We stayed for a few hours and had a nice enough time. I would, if we go again, drive ourselves next time. It started to rain and the last bus back was due with rain starting to pour and only room for about 15 or so on the bus. So, it was a mad dash of all on the beach to the bus with very angry people. Not the best way to end a day in the sun. So, it is just as easy to drive yourself ( ten min. at the most ).

- My husband tried something new on this trip, he rode the little "rollercoaster" through the tree tops and really enjoyed that. He said it was a bit over priced ( $17.00/person??), but he did enjoy it.

We go to Blue Mtn. each summer and will do our best to stay at The Grand Georgian again! Great get away with a small child, as well!

Room Tip: Make sure to research which type of lodge will work for you and your family/friends for your stay in...

Beautiful Spot in the heart of the village. Stayed two nights for a convention, room was decent with my biggest complaint that the adjoining room door allowed allot of noise. Room was small but had a kitchenette and a very comfy bed with a nice view of the ski hills. Internet is free and speed was decent. A quick walk to the other end of the hotel takes you to the restaurants and shops. Overall a great area to visit and a nice place to stay. Check in and out was fast and staff was friendly.

Dear Seanont,

Thank you for sharing your experience at Blue Mountain Resorts with our Trip Advisor readers. We are glad to know you enjoyed your stay and found your accommodations to be adequate and comfortable. We offer a variety of room sizes, the Studio Suite being the smallest with the kitchenette versus the Bachelor and upwards that offers a full kitchen and of course more living space. The exception is our Mosaic hotel, where you don’t have a full kitchen in the Studio, Bachelor or one bedroom, but the 2 and 3 bedroom units do offer full kitchens. We are always so pleased to read feedback on our staff and services rendered, we provide extensive training and it is so rewarding to hear that great customer service is being delivered.

Once again, thank you for providing your very helpful feedback and assisting future guests make an educated choice when selecting a vacation destination in our area.

Best Regards,
On behalf of Blue Mountain Resorts

Stayed for 2 nights. 2 adults and 2 teenage kids in a 1 bedroom suite with a full kitchen. Suited our purposes perfectly. Rooms looked good and suite was a nice size. Kitchen was well equipped. Our requests for an extra blanket and additional dish detergent and body wash were quickly addressed.Great activities for older kids; they loved the high ropes and coaster. Costs can add up with the activities but we took advantage of the 2 for 1 promotion in Toronto Star for the high ropes and had additional savings with the autumn package. I mentioned that we were celebrating my husbands birthday when I made the reservation and there was a complimentary bottle of wine and some chocolates with a card in the room. We also were able to get a complimentary late check out to 1:00 p.m, on Sunday which was helpful. Check in and out was very smooth. Would definitely go back and thought it was great value. Restaurants are a little pricey but to be expected in a resort area; that's why the kitchen comes in handy. It was great for breakfasts and prepped a dinner one night also.

Dearb ZoeTO,

Thank you for sharing your experience with other Trip Advisor readers, I’m sure your comments will help those considering a visit to Blue Mountain Resort. I’m really glad to hear, over and over again, that the attractions we have are gaining popularity with all comers. I’m very glad we were able to contribute in some small way to the celebration of your husband’s birthday and hope it was an enjoyable one. The Village definitely offers a nice mix of restaurants for varying tastes, and yes, the kitchens are a great little fall back for quick snacks or a stay in meal, nice to have the option.

Shabby, outdated, cramped -- definitely not grand. The walls are so bashed in and dirty that it feels like a rental unit on the wrong side of the tracks. Litltle annoying touches that add up to disappointment: ripped and dirty ironing board cover, inconsistent internet service, pumice quality industrial toilet paper, dirty fridge, no pen and paper, low hanging lightening fixture that I continue to walk into, tv remote doesn't work, view to the pool is view of trees so really it is no view. The underground parking is creepy-- just me and the skateboarding kids in the parking garage -- weird and the elevator door did not close just timed out with an alarm that finally closed it.
I've heard the Westin is quite nice. Boo hoo.

Room Tip: Stay at the Westin

Dear Sarahej,

Thanks for this feedback, I’m very sorry to hear you did not enjoy your lodging unit on this occasion.
This is not typical feedback and it is disappointing to know that the room had some deficiencies and in other cases didn’t meet expectations. I will be sure to pass on your feedback to our housekeeping team so that staff in this area will pay greater attention to irritations such as the tv remote requiring batteries and replacing iron board covers when they have reached life expectancy. We do have an internal call centre that will gladly dispatch staff to guest rooms on request with provisions such as replacement batteries, pillows, blankets and more, we are sorry if this was not mentioned to you on arrival.
