“Rude Rude Lady”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2011

The grounds were lovely and the mini putt great all thoguh things were not well signed. I visited from Alberta and while there we ran into a tour guide who would not move her tour to one side of the bridge to let us pass, there was no security and we were with a young child who had to miss out on seeing certain caves due to people smoking drugs in the cave and the worst part of the expereince was the lady who was working the front was overly rude, not heplful and when I asked if there were comments or suggestion cards she told me "no" I could tell her. When I expressed my concerns over the tour guide and the lack of security all she said was that we should have asked the tour guide to move. The tour guide clearly saw us several times as we waited awhile and never stoppped talking long enough for us to excuse ourselves. The lack of security she never commented on and I did not feel it was appropraite to express my lack of satisfaction with her infront of the child I was with.

“Steep price - well maintained - not worth it”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2011

We have been there four families with children with ages between 2 and 6 years. Long weekend on Sunday, overcast with chances of showers and big storm the night before. Big sign at the entrance "No refunds"! Before we got there we looked at the webpage thinking that for the young children that are not suitable for climbing to see the caves they probably enjoyed JUST the mini golf and the fish pond. At the website there is a price for the mini golf alone and a short mention that: "By purchasing the Value Package Pass upon arriving at Scenic Caves Nature Adventures, you can challenge the whole family to 18 holes of mini golfing fun! Young and old can play the Scenic Cave Miniature Golf park located on-site, in a wondrous natural setting". A sneaky way of persuading tourists in choosing the destination only to find-out at the gate that you have to pay the whole price if you want to play the mini-golf even if you are not interested or unable to complete the caves tour. Tried to talk with the manager on duty by the name Fred with no result, his explanation was that the once you get in you can go anywhere at the caves or at the mini golf with no way of controlling people. We have had all of us to purchase the Value package even though more than 40% of the people just spent time at the fish pond and the mini golf. In my opinion just a plain tourist trap. The caves are just big cracks in the rock and some lookouts with splendid views of the village. The food is the regular street food: dogs, burgers and sausages. The only good point was that the grounds were well maintained and manicured. The Gems, as somebody said were just bags of san d with some "gems" mixed in it, you have to use a swifter in the water to separate the sand from the "gems" - not worth the price!

“It was Ok”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2011

We got there pretty early so it was nice and quiet, so we could move along the trail at our own pace with nobody behind us. It was just Ok. I've got 7 and 9 yr old boys, but the climbing and the rocks just weren't enough to really impress them. They did love the playground though, and also loved the view from the suspension bridge. Mini golf course was pretty good. One word of warning though. The parking lot is ridiculously tight. If it wasn't for the gentleman beside us who stuck around to guide us out through 5 minutes of manouvering back and forth, we would have been stuck there the whole day.

“Beautiful & fun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2011

Bein from Ireland I often miss the natural beauty of the hills, moss covered walls and greenery. Scenic Cavea felt like I was home! So beautiful, a great way to spend a few hours outdoors in Blue Mountains! The suspension bridge was also great fun, if a little scary!!

“Nice, very clean, but not out-of-this-world experience”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2011

Felt the entrance fee a little pricey but the grounds were extremely well-maintained and made up for it. There is a playground with lots of climbing opportunities for little ones as well as a choo-choo train for toddlers. There are chain-saw wood sculptures scattered throughout. We're glad we chose to forego the Gemstone Mining Adventure (my kids too old 7 & 8) - just a bag of sand with "gems" inside that you get to sift through running stream. The trail, suspension bridge and caves are also well maintained and you get a nice overall view of Georgian Bay but nothing uber-thrilling or jaw-dropping. We didn't do the zipline (additional cost / minimum age requirements). The caves are not like the ones in which you see stalactites/stalagmites and such - they're more like narrow valleys created by rock. Spend 2 leisurely hrs (including picnic lunch and a good look at the trout pond) - go once and you're good. No need to visit again. Best for families with young kids and grandparents.
