“Worn out”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2013

Stayed here just over a week ago and never again. The staff were brilliant but let down by travelodge. From the start the carpets were old and threadbare. Once got to the room the door ad paint peeling off and not much better inside .The whole room was dated and felt like stepping back into the seventies, TV was only modernthing in room.No bath just a shower & no mention of this when booking.

Room Tip: Different hotel

i last stopped here about 6 years ago and it was fresh and clean ... it looks like not a penny of maintenance has been spent since. still a good location, but certainly gone downhill since that date ... decent italian and pub next door but there must be better opions nearby

We stayed at this travelodge for two nights recently, the room was what you expext from travelodge, basic but clean, reception staff were very friendly as were restaurant staff at the nearby red deer where the food was excellent ,of room plus meals was good value, all in all a nice experience...

Room Tip: Not a bad place

I was booked into this Travelodge by my company for 2 nights. On arrival I booked in and was asked if I had booked the BOXED breakfast I said that the company would have booked it. I was told my room was on the first floor I went up the stairs to the 1st floor as I opened the door there was a smell of SEWERAGE. I conplained to the front desk and was told they new about it but could not find the problem. I spoke to one of my colleagues who had stayed here some months before and he said he had the same problem. So in 4 months they have done nothing about it. I would strongly abvise not to stay at this Travelodge.

Room Tip: There,s not one

Nice place. Rooms clean. Big car park. Pub next door is decent and food and drinks are at a good price. Would recommend this place to anyone. Next to motoway but you carnt here no traffic at night time.

This is a no frills travelodge offering a bed, tv, shower and drink making facilities at a bargain price. You have to be aware what this place is about.
The cons:
Basic and tired decor.
Wrong postcode - use Red Deer or Sakura for sat nav.
The pros:
Brilliantly convenient stopover on way to/from NE Scotland.
Fabulous pub restaurant next door with lovely fires and excellent food choice and service.
Japanese/Chinese/Thai restaurant short walk away.
Easy departure in morning, directly onto M80.
Pleasant staff.

for the price of twenty-eight pounds for a family room, this budget no-frills hotel was absolutely fine. The staff were friendly, the bedsheets were clean and the beds were ok for comfort. There was a kettle in the room with tea/coffee. Do not expect too much and you will be very happy with what you paid for. Would consider staying here again as times are tough, and when you have a family of four, twenty-eight pounds for the night is quite a bargain!
