“Just Simply Terrible!!!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2012 via mobile

My husband and I had lunch here based on a friend's reccomendation that the food was authentic japanese. The place is small and with only 2 parking spaces. We ate there on a Thursday. The place was empty, we were the only table. Service was spotty. Just one girl. I ordered two rolls of sushi, my hubby ordered tempura chicken, fried rice and vegetables. The sushi was loaded with strange sauces. The rice was dense and mushy. The roll was huge, with the thick rice. Quality of rice was not correct for sushi. The taste of the sushi was not good at all. My husband got a generous portion of a bland and unseasoned greasy chicken! The rice was totally unedible, tasted like stale food. The tab was $75!!!! A complete ripoff. Stay away from this place. If you are looking for good sushi, there are a few other places you can go to in San Juan that are authentic Japanese. Try Mizu for good sushi at great prices and authentic stuff!!!

“real japan in purrtorico !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2012

This restaurant is family owned restaurant and the service was great, and the chef is from japan , I didn't think I could have real japanese food here in guaynabo. especially, okonomiyaki ( japanese pizza ) and sushi was outrageous !

4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2011

Recently I started to appreciate sushi pieces. The quality of the fish was extraordinary! The chef was so nice! I din't try the sushi rolls, but if the sushi are as good as the sashimi...well there is not much to say than: Mmmmm!

“Ok food, not real Japanese food, just sushi”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2011

Place is ok, sushi is decent and just more of the same. They say they have "real" or traditional Japanese food but it's just sushi and a couple appetizers. Service didnt stand out either. They limited us to a specific table claiming everything else was reserved but only one more table filled in the 2 hours we spent there. There are multiple way better sushi options in guaynabo and other areas in San Juan.

“one of few real japanese restaurant in Puerto rico”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2010

many chinese people open up japanese restaurant in san juan , but quality of the food is very very bad, and they take advantage of Puertorican people. but this restaurant called Daimajin is for real, one of few japanese restaurant serving a traditional way. It's very hard to tell good restaurant from the dining area. But actually, chef intend to put so much effort to the prepareation.
