A beautiful safe beach for swimming, surfing or just relaxing. Popular with all ages and groups especially family groups. Can get pretty busy especially at northern, swimming end but there is room at the southern end if you are happy to dodge surf schools in the waves. Great place to learn to surf. It is a very steep, windy road to the beach - no parking on the road down for visitors but free at the top - but there is a free shuttle that runs from 11am till late in the afternoon. Avoid the restaurants except for drinks - the food is expensive and not good. The "no dogs on the beach" sign was ignored on most days we were there but only by one dog each day! Be sure to put your beach shelter/umbrella and picnic close to the top of the beach as the tide comes very high up.
