Oreillys, Lamington National Park is one place which deserves to get a 10 out of 10 any day. This is one holiday locale for which we would use the word "perfect".

The management and staff were very well trained and very professional. The guides were very knowledgeable about the place and flora and fauna of the region and enlightened us during the different tours we were part of.

My wife and I had gone there for a one night stay on 18-Feb-11 last year and had stayed in Garden View Room. It had breathtaking views of the mountains and the greenery around.

We had a great time during the "Bird of Prey" show, bush walking and during the skywalk at rainforests. I am attaching few photographs which actually speaks volumes of this place.

The room was simple, warm and comfortable. We really liked the library and the piano at Oreillys that reminded us of the old world charm. The food at the restaurant was really delicious and we were surprised to find Indian dishes available at the restaurant. The ambience of the restaurant was also very good.

The best thing I liked about Oreillys was the guided glow worm walking tour at 8 pm. It was pitch dark and there was pin drop silence. We walked through the rainforests for about a km with sound of flowing stream and insects buzzing all around to reach the damp rocks using torch lights. The walk was an experience in itself and is etched in my memory even now. After the torch lights were switched off, it was a breathtaking view of the glow worms (pics attached - the best I could take.) They seemed like strands of pearls.

The next morning, we woke up along with sunrise to the chirping of birds and it was a great experience to breathe in fresh air. We had gone for a guided tour of the important locales in Lamington National Park and the guide was kind enough to toast some breads on fire and offer us tea. It was a marvellous and unforgettable experience.

I suggest that people visit Oreillys for 3 days 2 nights stay, for this will give them enough time to soak in the beauty of the place.

I recommend anyone visiting Brisbane to certainly visit this place.

Thanks and regards,
Vivek Barnwal

Thanks for your glowing review Vivek and thanks for recommending O'Reilly's as a 'must-visit' location in Australia. We are very lucky to be set in the heart of World Heritage listed Lamington National Park, surrounded by an abundance of Australian wild life and over 250 birds species.

Thanks for sharing your O'Reilly's experience and photos - we look forward to welcoming you back to Australia again.

I recently stayed for one night at o'reillys and I have to stay it's stunning! You must remember it's a back to nature retreat but wow! We saw a wild owl show, a lizard show, had a fantastic breakfast lunch and dinner, we did a 4x4 tour, we zip wired through the jungle. We did a treetop walk thru the jungle just like I'm a celebrity get me out of here and we did a night walk in the jungle with torches to see the amazing glow worms. The staff are so friendly, it's family run just exceptional brilliant all the above I did in two days! But remember to take a jacket it's alot colder in the mountains then on the coast but wow!!!

Stayed three nights with an overseas visitor in a Sky Villa and had a really comfortable, private and relaxing stay
and of course enjoyed some great bushwalking.

The Villas are comprehensively equiped and of an extremely high standard and the view was fantastic especially at sunset.

If you are looking for a very private and relaxing getaway I would highly recommend the Villas for a familly group or two couples and on that basis offer good value for money.

The spa was most welcome after a days bushwalking and the gas fire in the lounge provided a warm cosy environment in the mornings and evenings.

Of course whilst they are fully equiped for a self contained stay it is only a 10min walk to the bar, shop and restaurant and all the other resort facilities.

What has been achieved with the Mountain Villas at O'Rielly's is not only deservedly award winning, but you would seriously be missing out on an amazing Australian experience if you love rainforests and hiking and missed out on staying here. We had villa 25 and I know that they all vary a little, but this one is well placed to ensure a private, bush screened balcony (with a limited view) enabling use of the spa knowing your neighbours won't see in. The level of luxury is very high from the chattels to the manchester and complimented by a stunningly smart and spacious design. The kitchen is perfectly set up for 'chefs' if you're self catering. Everything about the villas is perfection other than the uncomfortable sofa bed couches in this particular unit and the fact that the TVs are set too high on the wall. Otherwise, we had a brilliant stay and would come back in a second. The standard full price is high but book early off season for a discount and the price is fair for such a great location and building. I can't think of a better place to return to at the end of a hard day of scaling gorges and the slippery creeks of the Lamington NP. Bliss.

“Unique luxury in perfect location” – your review title says it all and we could not have put into better words ourselves. Thanks for taking the time to share your O’Reilly’s Villas experience on TripAdvisor, it is pleasing to read you enjoyed your recent stay and thanks for the detailed review on the accommodation. Each villa has the same layout with the same furnishings, however the views can differ across the property as you suggest. We can usually offer discounted rates for extended stays so we hope to see you for even longer next time! Until then…

I had never been to O'Reilly's and yet I had heard all about it so we deceided to try it out. The place that we stayed in was lovely, great views from the balcony and good food. Due to the rain we never went on too many walks but it was still a nice place to stay at. We had the accomidation deal that included breakfast and dinner and it was great valus for the price.
The only sad point was that the service was slightly lacking in the sense that our drinks order got lost and the desert order was also lost. The staff felt bad about the drinks and we got them for free which was a nice thing to do so all was forgiven and we eventually had our deserts which were delicious. There was a good breakfast spread to be had.
There is a nice outdoor spa, cool plunge pool for the adventurous in the cold and a good sauna
Overall it was a nice experience albiet the approx 3 hour drive to get there. Good things don't come easy
If you haven't gone there do yourself a favour and go.

Room tip: The coffee was never hot but you can get it reheated.

Thank you for taking the time to share your review on TripAdvisor. I am pleased to read you enjoyed your stay, in particular the views and the food (despite the unfavourable weather – that said, it wouldn’t be a rainforest without rain!) It is disappointing to hear that our service did not meet your expectations on this occasion – we generally receive positive feedback about our Dining Room staff, however I am glad they were able to rectify this situation and you enjoyed your drinks and dessert. We hope to see you again at O’Reilly’s soon, thanks again! :)
