Stayed here one night on 15 May 2015, with a group of 26 people.
This is a traditional artistic Japanese-style hotel. The overall interior of the hotel is nice. The lobby is nice, shop located in the lobby is small.
Our room (number 707, Japanese-style with twin beds on tatami-mat) was large and nicely decorated. Toilet and shower were separated. Toilet and bathroom were both small. The Yukata was beautiful. We can see the Suwa Lake from our room -- nice view. Pillow and bed were quite hard for me, as the thin bed was on tatami floor. All guidance and remote controls (TV & AC) were in Japanese, except for the Fire & Earthquake precautions was available in English. Cups and green tea were available in the round box near the Flat TV, while refrigerator was located near the sofa near the window. You can find glasses in the cabinet near the refrigerator.
The hotel provided indoor and outdoor hot spring (onsen) pools. The outdoor onsen opened from 5 to 0 AM, while the indoor opened 24 hours. Sauna was available only for men, while steam-bath was available only for women until 9 PM. I tried the indoor onsen in the morning. There were 3 indoor hot spring pools. The onsen area and pools were clean. Small towels were available both in the guest room and in the onsen area. Vanity room with body lotions and face creams,...http://www.hamanoyu.co.jp/

Dinner set was delicious, especially the hot bowl soup. Breakfast was also served in Japanese bento (box) set, which was OK.
Overall, I enjoyed staying here, it's a beautiful and clean hotel. However I found difficulties in using the AC remote control, as it was in Japanese. Free WiFi only available in the public area.More
