What a find, sourced from A Sawday web. Great hostess, great warmth and knowledgeable, wonderful food and all found in a stunning location - with great walks and fabulous scenery. Clean rooms. The tranquility was supreme, good weather - a great 'refresher' from the hustle and bustle of everyday living - and, none too far from the main raod through to Skye.
Would not hesitate in recommending thsi wonderful B&B

Having stayed here three times now, I can only compliment the hostess on her warm welcome, the beautiful, yet simple surroundings and the fact that nothing is too much effort. Our hostess has always gone the 'extra mile' to ensure we are comfortable. Her cooking is excellent and even getting up to give us breakfast at 6 in the morning on the day of our departure was not too much trouble! Can't wait to go back!!

Room Tip: This is Bed and Breakfast in a private home. However, if you want peace and quiet in clean, simple...

I booked The Berry after seeing a photo of it on the Alistair Sawday's website and as the other reviews have said the setting for this B&B is beautiful. However the reception we received from the host was quite remarkable, being told off for leaving lights on in our room, to take our shoes off...etc etc the list goes on!! We have stayed at a number of B&B's over the years and this was by far and away the worst reception we have ever had.

Stunning location, up a secluded glen overlooking a sea loch yet only 2 miles from main road. Very welcoming and charming hostess and comfortable room. This is a treasure.

The Berry is in a lovely peaceful location with stunning views across Loch Long.We were given a warm welcome by Joan and were soon chatting away like old friends. Nothing is too much trouble for Joan to ensure her guests enjoy their stay at The Berry. Unfortunately our stay was much to short but we would have no hesitation in recommending The Berry to anyone who is looking for a splendid location with great food and good company

Room Tip: Our room was located at the front of the house facing the Loch fantastic views.

This was the by far the worst reception we have had at a B&B - we breathed a sigh of relief when we left and that's not what you're after when you've paid for a relaxing stay in the Highlands!

The house is pleasantly simple and the setting is really beautiful but it is all let down by Joan's unfriendly manner. Being ordered to remove our shoes and scolded for not shutting the gate properly is not an appropriate welcome for guests into your home. Breakfast is adequate but long sufferingly prepared and compliments are ungraciously received. The bedroom we stayed in (the smaller non en-suite of the 2 available) was simple as expected, though it would have been less annoying if you didn't hit the ceiling light every time we opened the door!
