We came here for a wedding anniversary dinner, parents, sister and 15 year old daughter whose chose the venue because she likes the music they play. Luckily we arrived early as it took aboout 20 minutes to find somewhere to park.
We were seated next to a party of about 20 children who screamed and ran around the place continually which didn't get us off to a good start. We could hardly read the menu as it was dark at our table, but the choices looked nice from what we could see so we ordered.
For starters, which came quickly, we had a sharing platter which definitely wasn't worth the £14.95 cost. Cold potato skins and everything else greasy and straight from the deep fat fryer. Also had some dough balls that were hard and unpleasant (Pizza Express do 10 times better), the best part of the starters was the bread and olives that involved no cooking. Cutlery was dirty and the plates were all dripping wet.
We were sat in a window booth which was started off feeling chilly and got colder and colder as there was a draught from the window. Despite telling the waiter / waitress several times that it was really cold and asking if they had any heaters, they did nothing apart from the helpful suggestion that our mum did some star jumps??? The staff did try their best to be friendly but I think they were best suited to the kid's parties.
There was no music playing in our part of the restaurant. They said a number of times that they would turn it up but never did. As another reviewer has said, we just got "Congratulations" continually throughout the night instead. By this time we had all put our coats back on, it was so cold. People at other window tables had done the same.
Main courses were similarly disappointing. My cajun chicken was just a plain dry chicken breast, cold and on a dry bun, with a handful of average fries. My husband's fish and chips made McDonalds fish filet look good, 2 small dried out greasy squares. The nicest meal looked to be a cheese and tomato pizza. We had to wait for about 20 minutes for 1 diet coke, despite reminding them twice.
I'm not sure why decided to order deserts as everything else had been so poor, but ordered 3 deserts between us, each topped with cream that tasked like sterilised milk and repeated on us for ages. We had to wait well over half an hour for the deserts. To be fair, they didn't charge us for them because we had to wait for so long.
The best part of the night was definitely leaving. Sadly it wasn't over then as my husband spent half the night in the toilet with an upset stomach.
I really wouldn't eat here again if you paid me.
