“The art of war”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2013

If like ourselves you've already visited Imperial War Museum
North, you can always see something that you've perhaps
missed on your first visit. There is often something new to
see other than what is on display in the main museum area.
From now until February 2014, there is an exhibition of
contemporary art work, since the first Gulf war. These
included, photographs, film, oil paintings, sculpture, prints
and books which are all displayed in an uncluttered and
tasteful manner which mirrors the general feel of the
museum and totals 70 works of art in all, the artists each
giving their own particular artistic perspective on war,
and lookout for the giant "hunt Bin Laden" video game, the
kids will love this!.
This isn't a a large exhibition but is still worth a look if
you are in the Salford Quays area and seemed to be
quite well attended. This exhibition is free of charge and
is open during the normal museum opening times. Also
while you are in the area and next to the War museum
you will see the new Granada TV building which is now
nearing it's completion and looking impressive.
If you take the lift up to the top of museum tower you
will have an even better view of the studios and Quays
area.

“Surprised”

It was free entry and had varied historical interest regarding wars that we have been involved. They had a presentation about children in war from all perspectives which was very interesting.

“Imperial War Museum”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2013

Entry to the Museum is free, but parking a car in their car park is expensive.
It is hard to find a parking place nearby, and Salford and Manchester being the places they are, I would not advise parking anywhere outside the Museum car park, or even within their car park, if you do not want to have your car either robbed or vandalised.
