Such an interesting and educational place to visit. My children had a great day here and we were impressed by the displays.

“Imperial War Museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

When we arrived here (we got a bus from piccadilly which stopped right outside) we were treated to an amazing view. The building and surrounding area look fantastic.
On entering we found the whole showpiece was one long floor and we felt that maybe we'd only be there an hour. How wrong we were!
There is so much to take in; it hooks you in to all the stories and detail. On each hour the lights dim and a different short film is projected across the giant walls - some of which was very moving. We were there for 4 hours in the end.
We ate in the cafe and found the choice and taste all very nice.

Would highly recommend this place to visit if you have an interest in WW 1 & 2 but also so more modern day happenings.

“Well worth a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

A gem in Salford Quays - about £10 in a cab each way from central Manchester, but free to get in. Worth getting a guide and there is a lot to see here. Well worth a visit - a humanistic view of conflict, it's a story well told.

“Give Yourself A full Day - So much to See”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

I visited this museum on a Sunday at the end of the day and only scraped the surface in the two hours I spent there. Excellent exhibits with the museum set out in time lines. There are also many audio visual aids. Museum free but well worth forking out the money for the glossy brochure. I'll go again to finish my tour.
