I arranged a Christmas meal for 23 people at The Left Bank which meant we had the upstairs room to ourselves. Meals were pre-ordered and deposits paid for each person. Everybody arrived on time and was allowed plenty of time to talk and mingle before taking our seats, there was no pressure from the staff for us to be seated. As we were a large party and the restaurant was full, and therefore busy, there was some time between courses but this was no problem as it allowed us time to move seats between courses. The food was of good quality and well presented. As we were eating from a set menu our only extra costs were drinks. Staff were very pleasant and attentive. All in all a very enjoyable evening. We were the last people to leave the restaurant but were not put under any pressure to leave. Additionally, as I tried to pay the total bill on behalf of the party, there was a problem communicating with my credit card company resulting in not being able to settle the bill. However I was told to come back the next day to try and pay, this despite me not being a regular diner.
