“Fantastic walks with knowledgeable guides”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2011

This was our second walking holiday in Spain and it proved to be another wonderful week. The walks were varied and most had a real wow factor. We were looked after superbly from the moment we came through the airport until we hugged our goodbyes as we left. Sue and Dave worked tirelessly to ensure we enjoyed ourselves - at times we felt a bit guilty that we were relaxing back at the hotel while they shopped and cooked but they really love what they do and it shows. Dave is a wonderful chef, we shall have to return to try some more of his magnificent homemade icecreams.

Room Tip: Walk down to the local cooperativa for a drink.

“Just the Best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2011

A walking holiday does not sound like the chance to be spoilt with gourmet food, delightful company and have your every need thought of in advance .... but that is just what Dave and Sue at Casa Carrascal deliver.
If you enjoy a good walk .... not a race or a competition .... a walk amid the glorious Spanish mountains covered in wild flowers, than this is the holiday break for you.
No map reading, just a week of walking and eating ( in that order) .... with days out in Valencia and to the coast to add interest.
Book soon or the returning customers who already know what a great time they will have will have taken all the places ! ... we will go again and again .... its like just so good !

Room Tip: Go informal and friendly .... and you will love i.

“A B and B with character, superb food and delightful hosts”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2011

The all inclusive guided group walking holidays offered at Casa Carrascal make for a splendid, relaxed break in glorious surroundings. The service is exceptional and everything is thought of. The four course dinners are excellent and delicious. The room was well equipped and comfortable with a lovely walk in shower. Spanish tiled floors can be chilly in winter, however, so take some warm slippers! Parcent is an attractive hill village lying in a valley and is little known to tourists. There are only a very few shops and just one or two bars, making the village a peaceful place. The surrounding countryside is beautiful with craggy limestone mountains, almond trees reaching up the terraces and row upon row of oranges and olives.

Sue and Dave organize wonderful walks and point out the flora and fauna, from short toed eagles to beautiful minute wild jonquils. The programme includes a day in Valencia which is a beautiful city with fantastic arcitecture both ancient and modern.

Casa Carrascal is not just a place to stay, it offers an experience and an opportunity to meet some of the many friendly local people known to Sue and Dave.

“The holiday delivered everything we were promised on the website and more besides.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2011

We have just enjoyed a fabulous winter walking holiday based at Casa Carrascal. The holiday delivered everything we were promised on the website and more besides. Sue and Dave were excellent hosts with a welcome and service that was second to none. Their beautifully restored Spanish townhouse was delightful, the atmosphere they created was warm and friendly and our room was very comfortably furnished in traditional Spanish style. The food throughout the week was locally sourced and of excellent quality. Breakfast always included a plentiful supply of fresh fruit and croissants and each evening there was a varied selection of menus to choose from. David is an excellent chef and (having a sweet tooth) his desserts were divine. We celebrated the New Year during our stay; Sue and Dave certainly made sure that was a night to remember, with an 8-course celebration meal, champagne and dancing into the early hours. The walks on our itinerary for the week were all varied but each one revealed spectacular landscapes and breathtaking views. We walked with a group of nine other guests and Sue and Dave managed to cater for all of our walking abilities, with an opportunity for more strenuous detours for those who chose that option along the way. We plan to return to Casa Carrascal so that next time we can experience the beautiful Jalon Valley when it is covered with almond blossom and spring flowers.

“'Wow, what a holiday'”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2010

To sum up our holiday in one word 'exhilarating' - but even that would not do it justice!. We had heard good reports of Casa Carrascal prior to booking our holiday and admit that we were a little apprehensive as it was our first guided walking holiday and first walking holiday with a group of people we did not know. We can only say that it totally exceeded all expectations - lovely setting, fabulous hosts in Dave and Sue - we cannot praise them highly enough, exquisite food, a first class, friendly, professional group of people walking with us - it was just superb. The walks were excellent - breathtaking scenery, walked at a pace that suited all, varied and all narrated by Sue and Dave with intersting local history and information plus descriptions and details of the wildlife and flowers passed on route. We also had a paid visit to Valencia which broke up the week and allowed us to see a lovely city with stunning old town and architecture. Can't fault it and cant wait to go back!!.
