“Great skiing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2014

50% of these runs are expert, 25% are intermediate and 25% are beginner, however even some of the intermediate should probably be upgraded to expert. Good snowmobile trips too!

“Perfect Spring Skiing on deep powder in mid-February”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2014

Wow - I have been skiing here for over 20 years, and it never gets old. I have skied all over the world, and always love coming "home" to Taos. Everyone talks about their snow, but I can assure you that NOBODY ANYWHERE has snow like Taos. Never a lift line; great prices; boarders now welcomed. What's better than this? About the only way to top a great day of skiing this awesome mountain is to have lunch at the Bavarian and apres-ski drinks by the copper fireplace in the St. Bernard. YOWWWW!!!

“My Opinion”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2014

My 4 year old and I went to Taos 2-16-14 for a weekend trip and absolutley loved it. I am a novice skier of Green/Blue runs and was a little weary after reading the reviews here, but I think its all very subjective. The runs were very long and most of them, albeit steep, were very wide. No menacing traversing runs that look as if you would fall 5000' before hitting the ground.. Overall, it was better than expected. A little icy this time of year, but the lift lines were very small and many of the runs were empty.

My son spent the day in the childrens program doing a little skiiing and having fun. They seemed much more organized than some ski resorts and they watch the kids from 8-4 so you can get some serious skiiing in.

I will be back again.

“Long Runs!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2014

We truly enjoyed our ski trip to TSV. We skied for 3 consecutive days during a snow storm. Fresh powder! We were there by 9 AM every morning and they already had all of the main trails groomed. Staff was friendly and worked hard.

FYI: As of the writing of this review (Feb 2013), the AT&T & Verizon cellular coverage on the mountain can be a bit scarce. Families may consider bringing walkie talkies. The best cellular coverage is at the base.

Be prepared for LONG runs. From the top of Lift #1, it is a 2 mile green run all the way back down to the base. The first thing I noticed about the other folks on the mountain is that there are a lot less boarders (than Tahoe resorts) and the skiers and riders/boarders are much more skilled than most other resorts we have visited in the US. I saw only a handful of beginners during my 3 days. We skied Wednesday - Friday and there were very few people there in general. At many times, I had entire trails to myself. The main trails are very wide. Some of the signage is small or non-existent; I looked for the sign for the "Japanese Flag" trail for 3 days. Not sure who decided which trails were green or blue. Bambi is marked as a blue but is green for about 90% of the run. On the other hand, Honeysuckle is marked as a green, but is 40% blue IMO.

If you are in good shape and don't enjoy stopping (i.e. long trails), this is the place for you.

“What skiing used to be. No crowds and a chill atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2014

Taos has tons of amazing expert terrain and there are no crowds, even on the weekend. This means more powder for longer! The vibe and atmosphere is super chill and relaxed, everyone is just having a good time skiing. There are fun German/Austrian restaurants and bars at the two base areas that are a perfect break from skiing. Add the great restaurants, shopping, and short drive to the town of Taos and you have a perfect vacation.
