Eastern Paradise Hotel is a solid, average hotel. On the positive side, the location is central, the rooms are clean (though, not serviced at all during your stay) and the breakfast is tasty. On the negative side, the rooms are very basic (and, a bit overpriced) and the owners/staff are generally difficult to locate. Once we were able to find the owner, we asked about a bus ticket to Inle Lake. She said she would book the bus. When we went back the next day (the day before our departure), she said she was in the process of doing so. On the morning of our departure, we went to collect the bus tickets and she told us to go buy them ourselves. It was obvious she had forgotten. It usually wouldn't be a big deal to buy our own tickets, but if she would have told us no from the beginning we would have gone to one of the tens of other travel agencies/hotels in town selling bus tickets. Unfortunately, the bus we did end up getting on didn't go directly to Inle Lake and honestly, it ended up being a huge pain (we don't speak Burmese making it difficult to communicate). Thankfully, everything turned out okay in the end but it was certainly an avoidable blunder on the part of Eastern Paradise!
