“Average hotel with a nice view.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2013

This is a decent hotel for the money. Off the beaten path. Make sure when making a reservation you say how many people in your party as they will quote you a rate for one person. We found the front desk clerk Evelyn to be very rude. The other clerk Ann was exceptionally accomodating. Most of the staff were very good. The breakfast was not to good.

I once again stayed at Capital Hill Lodge in February 2013. The swimming pool that was under construction is now ready and spacious enough. It is also used by school children from surrounding schools on selected days. The rooms are nice but still require study lamp for those on business and would like to read at night.

For a group, it is possible to have the hotel arrange to roast a goat at affordable prices and provide accompaniment. We enjoyed our last day that had a full goat done to our expectation and shared with hotel staff as well.

The hot water system still does not work well and is painful to see lots of water go down the drain as one waits for it to get hot. HOTEL MANAGEMENT - KINDLY INVEST IN INSTANT SHOWERS

Room Tip: The ones on the first row will give you a view of the swimming pool, but noisy when music is playing...

beautiful place,,nice rooms ,,nice location,,,,,,,
the worst was the untrained staff who seem to be really confused and unfriendly ,
the supervisor needs to be more serious when it comes to handling guest complains, the other thing that needs to be improved is the hot water in the rooms and please serve what is written on the menu,,,,,,,,.
otherwise i love the place with qualified staff ..more marketing,,and more food...am sure the place will sell,

We spent 2 nights at this hotel while traveling through Kenya with friends. Rooms are spacious, showers have hot water but you need to run the water for a bit, room and bathroom are clean. Beds are comfortable. They had problems with the power while we were there and we had to turn on the breaker box switch outside our room. Rooms are in small buildings for 4 rooms per building. The buildings are staggered so you can get a great view of the city and lake. An outdoor area with chairs is available to all rooms. The staff is very friendly and eager to be of service. Only problem we had was at the restaurant. It seemed that they did not have a well stocked kitchen since many of the items on the menu were not available. Nice bar area with large screen TV. Would go back.

Room Tip: When ordering off the menu just ask what they have available.

Capital Hill Lodge is a nice facility near Menengai forest and away from the noise of town center. The rooms are very spacious with very large beds with nice linen, Nice television sets and at the balcony you can appreciate the entire Nakuru town and beyond at a glance.

For conference it hold up to 40 individuals and there is plenty of space to relax as you appreciate the green surrounding. A swimming pool is still under construction and will add to its great value. The conference room is also spacious.

Some improvements need to be done especially to reduce slipperiness of the bathrooms, Modern shower heads and ensure hot water system is available all the time. Provision of small reading lamps would be ideal for professionals who would like to do a bit of study while staying at this hotel. The staff also need to pull up their socks especially when handling a large group. Installation of DSTV in the rooms and provision of pool table in the spacious bar will make it rate at very good.

Otherwise get a taste of this facility when in Nakuru.

Room Tip: Rooms in the units furthest from the reception area provide good relaxation as you enjoy view of ent...
