“Saturday lunch at The Bull Launton”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2015 NEW

We regularly visited this pub and had lunch there over a period of about 5 years then the owner left and although some of the staff tried to keep it going it was a disaster the one time we called there. We heard it had new ownership and decided to give it a try. We went a week ago Saturday and just had baguettes so cannot comment on the actual cooking of a meal but these were very nice. Not a long wait and everyone seemed friendly. The only thing that put me off was a youngish chap that came in with a very large dog - mega large and took it off the lead. The dog behaved okay but I am completely paranoid about dogs especially large ones and it just made me uncomfortable and I would certainly not take my grand children to the Bull. I suppose you get considerate dog owners who realize not everyone is enraptured with dogs and then you get the arrogant kind who think its fine to have it off the lead and will say no they never bite - until they get an off day!! Also I noticed after the waiter served us our food he stroked the dog - it was after he had served, but hygiene??

4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2015

We visited the pub yesterday for the 3 course set meal for Mother's day, Very quick service nice friendly staff. Meal was good and offered a good choice on the set menu, we all had roast dinner and what i liked was roast beef wasn't too raw. Nice touch was chocs and mothers day card on the table for Mum. Will be back as we were impressed.

“Food was poor”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2015

We went for a family lunch. The menu was very limited as it was roast, one special or nothing. Then we were told that 3/4 meats were sold out (at 1:30). So it was chicken or the special. In fairness to the manager she did offer us something off the normal menu. The food was quite poor. The calamari was soggy so we sent it back. I had the sausage baguette which was ok. The highlight were the chips. Friendly manager who has recently taken it over but a lot to be done.

“Good gastro pub”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2015

Went for a quick mid-week lunch. Nice and quiet atmosphere at that time, landlord/lady were very nice and humble.

Delicious pub food, huge portions. I'm not sure if anyone finished theirs completely. Very tasty.
