arniston hotel ,arniston,western cape,
we arrived in arniston one afternoon in february after a considerable detour from the main garden-route trunk road.
what greeted us was a turquoise aquamarine sea and a hotel
that reminded us of cornwall uk without the crowds and the rain.
curiosity had brought us here simply because the 4*hotel do es.
not show the rooms on their website
we asked to see a room and were shown a second floor superior room with a balcony overlooking the sea.what are they afraid of ?,the room was so nice we said we would stay without any hesitation:nice bathroom ,seperate shower cubicle ,huge bed comfortable sofa, fridge ,sat tv ,fan but no air con.
we booked 1 night because of the lack of eating places in the
town we had to check out the hotel restaurant .we had dinner and then stayed for another 2 nights .
the restaurant was fairly busy at night and an early sitting would be advisable, onretiring to bed we found the maids had been
in changing the towels ,washing the tea-cups,etc.
beautiful location not a lot to do ,chill out at the pool ,
visit the fishermans village, visit the huge cave ,swim in the warm indian ocean ,check out cape aghulas .
it seemed a very safe place ,cars were left in the open and the big event of the day seemed to be the launching of the fishing boats by some tractor contraption.
the whole staff were very efficient and next time we willstay longer.
what a pleasant surprise!
