“Piece of Heaven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2013

We chose the Conchal Hotel (based on the stellar TripAdvisor reviews) for our exotic getaway wedding with a dozen of our closest family and friends. Simon and Hilda handled everything for the ceremony and dinner reception, so it was just as much a surprise for us as it was for our guests. We had high expectations going in, and were thrilled to discover that even those were exceeded on every level.

The hotel itself is like a little piece of heaven, plopped down off the main road in Brasilito — a charmingly authentic little beach town. The pictures do not do the hotel justice. The "Rancho" is packed with character and is a wonderful place to grab a drink or a meal, and relax with friends or loved ones. The rooms, too, are comfortable and inviting, although we were too busy eating, exploring, and soaking up the sun to really enjoy the rooms. At night, the Rancho and hotel grounds are beautifully illuminated with light — and sometimes live music.

I can't say enough about the wonderful staff at Conchal Hotel, from Simon and Hilda on down. They are not only very friendly, warm people, but are willing to accommodate most every need. After months of correspondence with Simon and Hilda, arranging the details of the wedding, we felt as if we already knew them upon our arrival. But we left with true friends in Costa Rica.

We can't wait to celebrate many wedding anniversaries at the Conchal Hotel. Definitely a place worth going (back) to!

“Great Hotel!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013

We stayed here for 2 nights on our way down the coast from Playas del Coco to Samara. The hotel and service here are top notch. Upon arrival we were greeted with a refreshing smoothie and an awesome lunch (try the fresh tuna melt). There is a great little pool right in the middle of the very lush courtyard that was nice and felt great to jump in and cool down. The room was cozy and the bed the most comfortable we had out of our 3 hotels. Bathroom is basic but clean and has all the necessities you need. Breakfast was good and we really enjoyed the fresh baked bread, coffee, and juices. We opted to pay for the $2 breakfast special each day, one day pancakes the other eggs and gallo pinto, both were tasty. Dinner was fantastic and we couldn’t stop talking about how good the guacamole was (best we had in Costa Rica). We booked a snorkel sunset cruise through the hotel on Seabird and had a great time. I highly recommend going. The bartender David invited my girlfriend and I to a big beach party later that night and we had a great time hanging with him and his local friends. Simon and Hilda were very accommodating and we really felt like we were at home. If you are considering visiting the Brasilito/Conchal area and want an intimate, affordable, place to stay I would recommend staying at the Conchal Hotel.

“Family Feeling”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

You enter a tropical paradise, flowering plants all around. Then you are welcomed by Simon and Hilda who treat you like family. Fruit picked fresh everyday, tasting nothing like our market selections, sweet and juicy. Relaxing in the upstairs shade or sun poolside. Everyone making sure to fulfill your every need. Costa Rica laid back lifestyle. You can't get better than this.

Room Tip: Rooms 1&2 are the best, farther from civilization.

“Our Favorite Place!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2013

Myself and my fiance have stayed at Conchal Hotel often. We generally travel the countryside while in Costa Rica, and love to start our holiday here. We usually stay 2 to 5 nights here. This is a hotel like no other, the ambiance is very loving and charming. We love to start our day with breakfast upstairs, drinking coffee and checking our email. Hanging out in the gardens and swimming in the pool is so relaxing. The evening meals here are outstanding, and very personal. The rooms reflect an intimate style and feel so tropical. Simon and Hilda have become very dear to us, such gentle souls they are. We have chosen Conchal Hotel and Simon and Hilda for our wedding.

Brasilito is a small community and affords us the experience of the culture of Costa Rica. Conchal Beach is our very favorite place in the entire country!

“Highly recommend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2013

We stayed at Conchal Hotel for a week over Christmas 2012. Such an awesome and relaxing place and in a very laid-back area of Costa Rica. Ideal if you want a quiet getaway. The food was the best we had in the country and Simon and Hilda were awesome hosts. Look no further.
