Chosen for its proximity to a family celebration and the hotel's pets policy, we (Grandpa, daughter, two grandchildren and 6/12 puppy) booked two rooms at the Novotel, Manchester West, for one night ... on this occasion. From arrival, we were well impressed. The entire staff .. all were so welcoming, helpful and friendly towards us. Thank you, folks.
Our rooms were comfortable .. the decor was not too 'tired' .. and I slept well on a firm mattress. That the young children slept soundly in their room is meaningful. Room facilities were adequate but, as previously reported, aircon was non-existent .. hence an open window ... but I neither found the nearby motorway noise intrusive nor the wedding revellers a problem. Two doors into the room were very effective against corridor noise, it seems! As per previous comments ... the lack of aircon in the bedrooms needs to be addressed! It was warm and humid on 20 July .. hence the rating is lowered.
The breakfast buffet, hot and cold, was more than satisfying and was continuously topped up with fresh supplies - thank you kitchen staff!

We would have been very happy to stay longer... perhaps there will be future occasions.

PS ... the rooms were spotless. Bravo!

Stayed here for one night in the middle of July and a mini heat wave, Hotel rooms were large enough but no air con or fans, they were stifling and impossible to sleep in. On asking to have the aircon put on we were told that it was, funnily there was a group of us staying in different rooms and non of them had aircon on. Breakfast was vey good and could not be faulted, the hotel had a nice bar area but drinks were far to expensive, which is crazy as there is a pub 2 mins up the road selling food and drink. Would I stay here again, simple answer is no

This hotel is modern and very swish looking. We stayed one night after an evening out nearby rather than driving home. The staff were very welcomiing and helpful and the room offered was of a very good standard although extremely hot. The sun had been streaming in all day and had the curtains been closed perhaps it would have been a bit cooler. Air conditioning would have been appreciated. However, the bed was very comfortable and in the morning breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. Check online for the best price.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms on the east side closest to the motorway. It's noisy if you have the window open.

The hotel lobby area & bar, restaurant are quite modern & attractive areas.
The rooms are OK though my room had problem with cooling & very hot.....
There is an air con control though the vent is small and the air coming through in my room was not chilled. It was warm outside (20 to 25 Celsius) , room was very hot inside ... the window in the room could only be opened a few inches so difficult to get air flowing & cooling down. Reception provided me with a small fan which helped. The bathroom was quite modern with a good shower system.
Very good breakfast & restaurant area.
Rooms should have air con that works or a proper fan fitted to help with the cooling problem in warm summer times.
Staff at the hotel were helpful & good.

Room Tip: Ask for a fan at check in if the weather outside is warm !

The Novotel at Worsley is a rather utilitarian place. No air con and a very boxy 70s design overall..
Who cares - the staff very fabulous. - of a quality that I'd expect in a much posher place.. Helpful, friendly, pacey, lovely attitude, professional -would return again and again
