“Berber Life”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2012

I agree with previous reviews.
Words cannot describe how good this day out was.
The three of us-20 year old daughter and 2 -50 something's loved everything about this day.
From the stunning views to the kindness and generosity of the people we met and the delicious food we ate-it really was a trip to remember.
Our only concern was that we didn't allow more time to do a longer trek and spend more time in the mountains.
So much more relaxing and informative than hours in Marrakech being constantly hassled and annoyed.
Many thanks to Jamal and. Noureddine for giving us such a wonderful experience.
Our taxi driver was also very informative and friendly.

“Authentic Interactions with Local Culture”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2012

My husband and I did the 2 day/1 night excursion, and it was the best part of our trip to Morocco. Just as their websites states, the main purpose of the trip is to experience the beauty of the mountains and the people who live there. We appreciated that the tour didn't feel fake. That is, the families didn't put on a show for us or stop their daily life. They were very welcoming and shared delicious food with us, but it was clear they were being authentic. They did their daily chores, like cleaning, washing clothes, and cooking, but they allowed us to look in on their life. It was amazing to experience a culture that has existed for so long.
The walking was very moderate- no more than 5 hours/day and with lots of breaks to take pictures or just enjoy the scenery. There is a donkey available to carry your stuff (or you, if you get tired!).
We want to emphasize how unique this tour was. We had another excursion through a different tour company, and it seemed like all they wanted was to sell us products from their friends. On the other hand, Berber Travel Adventures excursions offer a chance to see a truly beautiful land and its people.

“can't put a price on this experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 20, 2012

My parents and i did a moderate walking trip. it was such a great experience! after 3 days staying in central Marrakesh this was such a relief. so far away from the hussle and bussle and so much more enjoyable. No desperate begging for money just a very enjoyable cultural experience. Considering for this walk you pay the say for a meal out with wine it is well worth it. The people in villages are so kind and welcoming. Our guide Nord was very knowledgeable about even the smallest details about the area. The Moderate walk was very manageable for us ( i am 20 years old, my parents are in their 50s). Such a great insight into real Morocco. Highly recommend, and the longer tours sound amazing too!

“Great day trip into the atlas mountains”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2012

My group of 4 people did the moderate walking itinerary which took us from Amizmiz into two mountain villages. At the first village we stopped into a family's house and had some mint tea and delicious bread that they prepared using a traditional cooking method. At the second stop we had an amazing lunch consisting of more mint tea and a beef tagine. Our guide was fun and informative. Would definitely recommend this company to anyone looking for a nice and relaxing day excursion from Marrakech!

“One of the highlights of my trip to Marrakech :)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2012

My first thought when I started the visit to the Tuesday Berber market in Amizmiz was: Finally I am out of the chaotic and stressful medina in Marrakech and I can enjoy real-life in a smaller town. This market is not at all for tourists who are looking for another souvenir to take home. Here is where you can really see how local people are living. This market is by and for local people who need to buy their food, spices, cooking tool etc. It was amazing to stroll around and drink a fresh mint tea in one of the communal areas.
After the market we visited a Berber village, set in a fantastic landscape, and we had lunch at one of the Berber houses (a fantastic tajine with home-made bread).
Jamal was an amazing guide and company and so was Aicha, the wonderful lady who hosted us in her house and cooked for us.
If you want to experience something really authentic, take this tour!
