“Nostalgic Holiday Trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2013

We used to live in this town but never stayed at the Kazar before.
This hotel is one of I have ever stayed in. Helpful staff, great big rooms and superbly clean. Breakfast was a little short on choice but what there was available, was fine. Dinner menu was ample for our needs and the food was very good. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone

Room Tip: If you like space then upgrade to superior room, but all the rooms are really good

This was a challenge, I was in Spain on business when I was more familiar to visiting Spain for pleasure so I was in search of somewhere decent to stay not too far away from my first appointment in the morning away from the more typical tourist hubs. Very quickly Hotel Kazar popped up. The reviews looked good enough the price of €66 seemed reasonable enough for what looked to be a pleasant hotel.
I arrived at 10:30pm after a 3+ hour drive from north of Barcelona, what a strange place in the middle of a standard looking town, pulled in the courtyard car park and thought I am hungry its gone 10pm and looking up at the restaurant seeing people sat eating thought thank goodness I am in Spain. The kitchen was just closing up but they were happy to accommodate me, dinner was 2 courses for €12 certainly not Haute Cuisine but it did the job.
Everything was clean neat and tidy with a very Arabic look about the place which was very nicely done, what you could not miss was the fact that the King & Queen of Spain had been here. My room was spot on complete with Aircon, the bed must have been comfortable as no sooner was I in it then the next thing I knew it was morning.
If you are travelling through Spain and are looking for somewhere decent, reasonable and different to stay about 15mins (via dual carriageway) from the A7 give Hotel Kazar a look.

The elegance hits you when you face the hotel with an almost castle-like spectacular front. All is very clean in this place, and space is generous, even though we got a relatively small but spotless room with tiled floors, moorish window, elevator, aircon and wifi. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was a la carte without the carte, but the waiter spoke basic English and explained what was available and we had a simple continental breakfast with juice, caffe con leche, toasted bread, all totally satisfactory. There is ample free parking in a palm-tree lined court. Highly recommended as a stay-over in a totally non-tourist area - we did not see a single tourist during our entire town walk, which was nice but not spectacular. We also had a very satisfying dinner in their restaurant. We started out with appetizers of a heavenly tuna and avocado salad with small junks of potatoes in mayo, as well as goats' cheese slices on crispy freshly toasted bread topped with sesame and sunflower seeds. For mains we had their pork sirloin, certainly the most tender we ever at in our long lives, served with potatoes and onions, the other main was a duck confit with aubergines and scalloped potatoes, followed by a tray of 3 different desert creations. High recommendation for both the hotel and the restaurant.

Very nice hotel in a small town.We upgraded the room with 10 euros for a much spacier one.Rooms were very special and elegant.small TV.Internet worked fine in the room.Swimming pool available in summer they told me.Breakfast was 10 euros. This is not a buffet so you have to explain what you want in your best Spanish. You don't get more then an egg, toast ,jam and coffee. Not much choice as there is no way to find another place for breakfast nearby. The dinner is excellent. A full menu (3 tappas, main course and desert and coffee for 19 euros, On Sunday no breakfast possible but we got free coffee and I got free 1.5 liter beautiful blue (plastic)water bottle also free for the way.We made some nice walks in the area with maps received from tourist information.

My daughter and I stayed in this hotel recently on a business trip to Spain. Very comfortable bedrooms, cleanliness excellent, staff courteous and helpful - we had very little Spanish, they had very little English, but we managed to communicate our needs. Overall very happy with the hotel.
Regarding the town, I would advise travellers not to go there on a Monday as everything closes, even the hotel restaurant!

Room Tip: Single room had lovely balcony, double room did not.
