When you are visiting the 5 Terre everything is beautiful, unique and pricey. You will find tons of locandas, restaurants, trattorie but they are unfortunately most of them too touristic, overrated and mediocre...but if you really want to have a delicious dinner based on the freshest seafood that you can have you must stop by Bonassola and dine at Perballe Ristorante.
Bonassola is a small town that has a lot to offer and it’s out of the circuits of mass tourism. it’s a truly romantic town by the sea, very busy during the summer months (in fact it’s almost impossible to find a car park so the best ways to go there from the 5 terre will be by train or goes there in may, september)
The restaurant Perballe is situated in a lovely small "piazza", it's a great location. The food here is just simply gorgeous and the chef is definitely up to speed with the new trends and cuisine techniques...he really knows how to handle pasta, fishes, scampi and many others. We went several times in the past years to this restaurant and we never get disappointed for the food. The wine list is small but it offers locals and whites from other regions at reasonable prices. The service is just ok, cordial, but please do not expect a fine dining service treatment, it's a very friendly casual service. The restaurant has an outdoor terrace with around 25 seats and a small inside, so it’s very tiny. The bad news is this restaurant in order to guarantee top food quality is a little bit too pricey but personally I think it's worth your money...
My favorites when I go there are the raw seafood dishes (scampi, tuna, ricciola ecc...) followed by the fish of the day “al forno” or “all’acqua pazza”and and to conclude the experience …ask for one of his desserts – they are just perfect!!
I definitely recommend you to reserve your table a couple of days earlier since Bonassola doesn't have other places similar. Enjoy it!
