“Tranquil location”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2013 via mobile

Tranquil location in beautiful Cornwall. I'm sure you can find somewhere much nicer to stay.

Dirty floors, tired furniture.unfriendly welcome by the owner. Information pack had no Internet code and its lovely to look at a black hole on a wood burner we had to request logs. I forgot to say also a damp smell obviously trying to be disguised by bleach.

This accommodation is allegedly approved, they must only visit once and have all hands to the deck just before the visit. It was very rough and worn round the edges.
The gentleman owner we wish we could call him that was rude, not welcoming shows no understanding or empathy to what our needs where. He is the one that should be removed from this accommodation, with a new owner I'm sure it would be a different place and a lovely place to stay.

Please do not waste your money staying here, in a recession we are all working harder than ever for our money, please don't waste it here!

Will be interested to see if the owner leaves a comment as he has done with others, because I can assure you he doesn't take on comments here as he promises to.

We recently stayed at Welsummer Cottage, Bamham Farm for a weekend break. We were only sorry we had not booked for longer! Our group of 4 adults and 2 children were comfortably accommodated in this cottage, together with our dog. A dog and child friendly establishment in beautiful grounds, excellent facilities and an immaculately clean and well-equipped cottage. The rooms were much larger than the online pictures can ever depict and the cottage was also cosy and warm with a log fire and plenty of mod cons to make our stay 'home from home'. The swimming pool was a delight, as we were visiting in February we were very pleased that the swimming pool was warm enough for us to enjoy it in the winter months with our toddlers. There is also a games room so plenty for the children to do. The complex itself is pristine also. The location of the cottage is within easy access to many tourist attractions and beaches. The owner, Simon, was friendly and attentive, ensuring the cottage was cosy for our arrival - and not forgetting the requirements we'd mentioned on booking months earlier.

We hope to return in the summer months and would highly recommend Bamham Farm Cottages as an 'all-year-round' holiday destination.

A wonderful weekend getaway was had by all! There were seven of us staying in tamara cottage, four adults and three young children, but it was no where near cramped! The bedrooms are large with plenty of storage, the lounge/kitchen was so comfortable and homely, everything is provided to make it as relaxing as possible. The use of the swimming pool and children's play area were fabulous, with no time restrictions, we were free to come and go as we pleased. The owners have thoughtfully prepared as much information you might need for their guests which was perfect to have to hand with three young children to please. Even though the beach is a drive away, the drive is scenic whichever route you take. We wished we had booked to stay longer.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The accommodation was Warm and Clean. The bed was comfy and we had great night sleep. Arranging for the Clear Blue Skies while we were there was really going above and beyond the call of duty.

Would not hesitate to go back.

Perfect location. Quiet & secluded with fabulous facilities. Pool was heated to perfect temperature. Games room suitable for all ages with childrens toys & pool tables etc. We took our dog with us and ample areas to walk. Cottage spotless. Everything there that was required. I will def be booking again. We booked a 3 bedroomed property. Lovely & warm property & the multi fuel fire was a god send in this weather. Close to main town & supermarkets. Perfect location for travelling around rest of Cornwall. We will def be returning & for longer than the 4 days we stayed this time!!!

Stayed in Morwenna at the beginning of November for a short break with family and dogs. The cottage was beautifully clean and managed a perfect balance of bright interior with a wonderfully warm and cosy atmosphere. The gorgeous woodburning stove, comfortable furnishing and stunning countryside views made it a pleasure to be curled up indoors even on a rainy day. We found the property ideal for our two dogs and felt extremely welcomed as dog owners by the proprietor. There was a safe, enclosed patio and parking right by the front door. The cottage is in an ideal position to reach both beaches and moor – perfect for long wintery walks with the dogs. We also really appreciated the heating being on when we arrived and the warm, beautifully clean swimming pool was the icing on the cake. The perfect get-away – so perfect, we have already booked for the new year!

Unfortunately I have to agree with a previous reviewer as our cottage floor was covered in dog hair when we arrived and had to be swept up. Also any cutlery, plates etc that we needed to use had to be washed first as there was food residue on them.
Our initial impression was that the cottage was cold and smelly; at this time of year storage heaters do not provide enough heat. When we returned from a day out we needed to keep our coats on until we had lit the wood burner.
I am very surprised these cottages are rated 4* as we have stayed in properties that are much more comfortable, welcoming and clean.

Dear Jennie, many thanks for your review and feedback. All of our cottages are inspected annually by VisitBritain Quality in Tourism and we work very hard to ensure that the quality standards of our long standing 4-Star rating are maintained at all times. We did have an issue with a cleaner (who is no longer with us) during the week before half term and can only apologise for these failures to maintain our usual high standards of cleanliness in all of our cottages.

During our most recent refurbishment of all of our cottages we have added wood-burning stoves and a supply of environmentally friendly bio-logs to ensure that the cottages are cosy and warm even in the depths of an icy winter.

Apologies again for not meeting your expectations and, indeed, our own standards of cleanliness and as a result of your feedback we have taken big steps to improve our cleaning regime to ensure that our standards are always met. We hope that you will take advantage of our loyalty discount and come and stay with us again in the future.
