Good place for a weekend break

The resort is good but can be made better. The resort is on a hill and valley facing rooms are good. Valley facing rooms do not have air-conditioning and though we visited in August and did not face much inconvenience but I think the weather in summer will cause inconvenience. Rooms are otherwise good with a television and a mini-refrigerator. The view of the valley from the balcony is very good. There is a bit of monkey menace problem and the balcony doors cannot be left open. The swimming pool is good. They have a table tennis, foosball table and a pool table. Staff is good but nothing extraordinary about the hospitality. Buffet is really good - much better than we were expecting. Mobile network coverage was not available for Airtel for most of the time and wifi though free was sometimes available in range and sometimes not

Awesome place to stay in yercaud

After checking so many reviews we finalized to stay in grt sky rocca yercaud. Our stay here was very pleasant. This place is really nice, built with all modern amenities & it shows the perfect view from each room. We stayed in the valley view room, all the staffs are very courteous, especially to mention Mr.Arun the manager. He was very friendly & guided us in anything we required. Food @ their restaurant Salem heights is great.. So overall we loved staying in this place & would defiantly visit again :)

The view is to die for!

Overlooking Salem, the location is unbeatable.

Just adding that
1) the buffets have a good spread and taste fine.

2) Try to get rooms in the higher floors and into the valley as possible.

3) The Skywalk in itself is a bit meh.

4) Trekking on coffee plantation (unused) arranged by the hotel is only for the brave. Make sure you are fit/wear jeans (for there are bugs! & thorns)/shoes.

5) The staff are super friendly and are ever ready to help. You have to just ask.

6) the views from the roof top is breathtaking in the evenings. They supply hot snacks and decent coffee/tea along.

7) The pool is small but well maintained.

8) Indoor games are adequate.

9) Staying at the GRT itself is an experience, more so because Yercaud has little else. So it maybe a little underwhelming.

As many before me have repeated, a must-stay highly recommended hotel slightly expensive but again that makes it exclusive.

Room tip: Top Floors, Rooms towards the valleys. Beware of monkeys!

Loved it

Spacious room and bathroom, great valley view from every room's balcony, spectacular view of Salem during night from terrace, Dinner and breakfast buffet was just delicious.

Tips: Buy dinner at the time of booking online (cost effective) 250/head otherwise 850/head (reception rate). By default breakfast is a part of room package.

It's man made...but natural...

A hotel with a unique design that blends with nature in all aspects. Only one word to describe it...BEAUTIFUL...!!
We booked the panaromic view room and it was real value for money. The day time panoramic view of the greenery from the balcony was simply marvellous. And the night time view of the Salem city lights was another awesome view.The sky walk was another feather in the crown.

Clean and well maintained rooms
Free wi-fi
Tasty food
Courteous and responsive staff
Children's play area with many options
Swimming pool
Activity room

Bads:
Pool water is not temperature maintained, so water is too cold to swim in the mornings.
