Owner description: State of the art locks were built at Hatton to flight off stiff competition from the roads and railways in the 1930's. When the locks were completed bands played and crowds gathered to watch the Duke of Kent arrive by boat and cut the ribbon. Today Hatton Locks is a lovely peaceful location to watch the colourful narrowboats as they move through the flight and if thats too much excitement why not enjoy a picnic or bite to eat in the cafe.

“Ask to operate the locks!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

Take a nice stroll on the locks and check out how they work. You can even ask to help operate the locks. On a nice day (or even on a not-so-nice one) you can get a good view down the locks to see the St. Mary's Church in Warwick. While there is a carpark and small tea shop, you can park at the pub in Hatton on Birmingham Road and have a warm (but somewhat overpriced) drink at the end of your walk. If you want to continue walking, there are trails and the nearby Hatton Country World.

Nice for a walk, bit boring, but there is a pub nearby and Hatton Country World. Imagine good if you have kids so they can see how the lock works etc.

I enjoyed a nice autumnal walk with my wife along the canal by the locks but was not impressed by the shopping outlet nearby which I would avoid
