“The Greatest Vacation of ALL TIME!”

I cannot begin to say enough about the service and the people of Jamaica. The resort is meticulously landscaped and kept to the highest standard. Sure the drive from the airport in Montego Bay is long (90 min.) but well worth it. The staff is the best. Especially Shadea in the French Bakery, Delroy aka Hong Kong in the beach bar and the General Manager, Mr. G. All of these people really made our trip wonderful. WE WILL BE BACK SOON.

First let me say that my husband and I have gone somewhere tropical every year in January for the past 12 years. When my boss kept raving about this property, my husband and I decided to go there for his 50th birthday. We could not afford the tremendous jump in price for a butler or concierge suite so we opted for the Luxury Beachfront room. Well, first of all was the horrendous drive from the airport was very bumpy and nauseating. At check in, I told the front desk that we wanted to upgrade and was told not today but maybe tomorrow. I also let them know it was my husband’s birthday on Friday and I wanted a cake for him delivered to the room. They said no problem and wrote it in their book of special occasions. So, we got to the room and it had a fridge but no beer. So, I asked for some beer and was told that would be another $100 a day. What a rip off. When I went down to the front desk the next day, to check on the upgrade they said not today, maybe tomorrow. This continued everyday until I gave up. The day before and day of my husband’s birthday, I checked on the cake and was told it would be there. It never came. Additionally, I was charged $43 for internet access that rarely worked and was not give a refund until I asked to speak with a manager. This place nickels and dimes you for every little thing. The thing they do best is making the resort look nice in their TV commercials. I would never visit this resort again.

We regret to hear that your experience with us did not meet your expectations. Even though, we are willing to upgrade guests upon request, if the resort is running at full capacity it is difficult to accommodate room upgrades.

We always want to make sure your stay is as wonderful as it can be, especially a stay to celebrate a special occasion. Therefore, I am so sorry that this was not the case during your stay. I have brought your concerns to the attention of the General Manager. Our team on resort will make the necessary adjustments to ensure that future guests do not share this experience.

Thank you for your feedback.

We hope that you will afford us a chance to offer the amazing experience for which we are known during a future stay.

Sincerely,
Cassie C.

My husband & I just got back from wonderful week at Sandals Whitehouse in Jamaica. We used the Club Mobay arrival service. Shadae from Club Mobay met us at the end of the jet way and escorted us thru Customs and to their lounge. She also went to find our transfer while we had a cold Red Stripe. As an anniversary present we splurged and took the helicopter to the resort. We used Jamaican Customized Vacation & Tours for our transfer to the Whitehouse. Everyone there was very professional & courtesy. I would highly recommend booking your air transfer with JCBT. Sure beats the bus and an hour & half ride to the resort. From the time we landed in MJB to arriving at SWH was just over an hour.
Once arriving at the resort we were quickly checked in & off to our room. We stayed in the Dutch Village on the second floor with a great ocean & pool view. Yes, the rooms are a bit dated but who is in their rooms that much anyway when you have a gorgeous beach?
Unfortunately it starting raining shortly after our arrival so we went up to our room & got ready to go down for drinks before dinner. Our favorite bartender from last year is still there. You must go see Copeland at bar by Neptune’s. Copeland always had our glasses ready when we got there each evening along with his wonderful smile and attitude. Anthony & Kevin at the main pool bar do an excellent job during the day keeping your glass full.
We took the garden tour again this year with Oshosi . He is very knowledgeable about all the plants, trees & flowers on the property. When we go back again we plan on taking the tour again just to see what we remember from this time. This year we had the honor of attending the Returnee dinner which is held on Tuesday evenings. Every table has a rep from Sandals so you can talk one on one with them about what you love about the resort and what would make it even better. They announced during dinner that Sandals will be adding beach beds, 60 additional umbrellas & additional thatch huts over the next year. This will allow even more shady spots for those who want to be out of the sun. They are also going to transform the game room into a Pub very soon as well. If you have the opportunity to go to the Returnee dinner GO! Everyone on the staff at SWH is very friendly and always smiling. All the staff we meet spoke to us & always wanted to know if everything was going alright. Mr. G was always roaming the property and would stop & speak to every guest he saw. I think that man never sleeps! No matter what time of day or night it was you could spot him somewhere on the property.
One nice thing that has changed is the fact that men can now wear shorts to dinner in every restaurant except Eleanor’s. But even there if you have shorts on you may sit outside on the patio for dinner. We like to dress up for dinner so its fine with us. Oh the food where to begin on that delicious subject. If you can’t find something you like with all the choices they have then something is wrong with you! If you would like more of anything all you have to do is ask and they will be happy to fill your request. Be sure to venture up to the Martini Bar and have either a 007 or Make my day.
On the day we had to leave paradise we used Danny’s Island Tours for our transfer back to the MJB airport. Even though Sandals provides a transfer back to the airport we prefer to take our own car. We had the pleasure of meeting Danny last year when we used his service for our arrival and departure. It was good to see him again this year. He points out different things along the way and gives you an insight of the Jamaican people and countryside. After we checked our bags with the airline, we used Club Mobay departure service. We were a bit disappointed at first as there was a long line to use their one lane thru security. They moved some of us over to a regular line which was even slower than their line, which was a tad irritating. If they would have just left us in their original line we would have been thru quicker. Other than that little set back everything else went smoothly.
Our only complaint at SWH is there really needs to be a bathroom by the Dutch pool. It was quite a walk to go to one or you had to go back to your room.
Looking forward to go back to SWH again in the near future!

We chose Sandals Whitehouse in Jamaica after many many trips to the Riveria Maya and Cozumel areas of Mexico. We were expecting, after many conversations with others who had been to various Sandals properties, a trip that would blow our minds. Well it has, but not in the way we expected.........

These are just a few of the disappointments:

Our room was in the French section of the resort. From our room we had a nice view of the ocean and pool. Rooms are small, balcony is tiny barely large enough for my husband and I (we are not large people). The walls were very thin, you could hear everything. During my shower one night the water just stopped. And I wasn't the only one this happened to after talking with others the next morning.

We never used the pool in our area because of the lack of available chairs, by 7:00 a.m. EVERY morning ALL of the loungers, chairs were reserved (which according to The Daily Breeze the morning activity and resort guide is prohibited).

Apparently room service and alcohol in your room isn't included in their definition of all-inclusive. You must pay for an upgrade on top of the inflated price of the trip in order to get this!

The food was very good and the staff very friendly and accommodating however that doesn't make up for all of the faults with this resort.

We will NEVER go to a Sandals resort again! I believe the only people who return are those who have never experienced other resorts.
.

Room Tip: Go to a different resort.

We're so sorry that your stay was not as expected. We strive to uphold the highest standards of service and quality. We have many guests that boast of our luxurious inclusions, water sports, fine dining, accommodations and quality of staff but we are respectful of the opinions you have expressed and recognize that one person’s specific experience can only be judged by that individual.

We want to make sure future guests do not have similar feedback and will take action by notifying the appropriate departments of your remarks - including our lifeguards to ensure they are monitoring the reservation of lounge chairs. We do request that while on resort you notify us of anything that does not meet your standards. We are always willing to work with you to make sure you walk away feeling like your stay was money well spent.

Thank you for your review.

Kind Regards,
Cassie C.

My wife and I had an amazing time at Sandals. We could not have picked a better place to spend our first week of marriage. Sandals Whitehouse is a secluded resort. Located in the middle of nowhere and surrounded by spectacular beaches, clear beautiful water, and mountains. We were skeptical as this was our first trip to an all inclusive resort, but we were pleasantly surprised. I would recommend the concierge packages. The concierge staff made our stay so much better. When we arrived with all the other guests the a concierge staff met my wife and i at the bus and whisked us away for speedy check in. They handed us drinks while they checked us all in and took our bags to our room. They also left sweet honeymoon decorations, cake, champagne, etc..in our room each day. They also would call and remind us when our planned excursions were and when we needed to be ready to go. They arranged our travel, answered promptly any questions about the property and handled every and all requests that we could think of (room service included). They were spectacular!! We were a little concerned as we read several bad reviews about the food at the many restaurants on the property, but every place that we dined was wonderful. Some were better than others, but all were delicious. However, we did not eat at Jasmine's so we cannot say whether their entrees measured up to the other restaurants (my favorite was Bayside for Breakfast). The Bar staff was very friendly and entertaining. Never had to wait more than a minute or two for a drink, and it was always served with a smile, and a "yeah, Mon!".
So many more things that i could say about the resort (the onsite excursions, the spa, the shopping, the beaches, the pools, the amazing rooms with amazing views, the snorkeling, the planned entertainment...day and night, etc), but i think you get my point. This place is truly amazing, and we will definitely be headed back to Sandals Whitehouse in the future. Oh, and one last thought...the Dutch and Italian buildings (rooms/suites) were the best.

My wife and I visited Sandals Whitehouse for the second time Apr. 6 to Apr. 13th, 2013. The first time was March 2012. This Sandals is by far the very best. Class all the way. Gorgeous place with fantastic beach, all immaculately maintained. Food is great, pools are great, people are super friendly for the most part. Only negative were the workers in the dive shop and those that take you snorkeling; they just aren't friendly or happy. All others are great. We had a dream room -- corner room, 4th floor of the French Village. We love the French Village so we can get up in the morning and stroll along the water edge to breakfast. It is simply very difficult to find anything negative about Whitehouse. We don't like the 1 hour 45 min bus ride from Montego but the road is slightly improved in most parts. But once you get there it is the best vacation one could have!! You have to visit this place at least once in your life.

Room Tip: French Village, 3rd or 4th floor! All views are fantastic.

Beautiful resort. Super friendly and attentive staff -- especially our butlers Joy and Chris! Excellent food and our favorite restaurant was Bluefield's because of the location, food, and great service. We could not have been more pleased or more relaxed with our first visit to Sandals Whitehouse.

Room Tip: We were in the Dutch Village on a high floor with a terrific porch and view.
