“The best way to ring in the New Year”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2013

My husband and I just spent our second New Years at Whitehouse, it was truly awesome; It was out third Sandals stay but the best by far. While all the rooms have a great view. The Dutch Village has the best view of the Sun set. Also the beach in front is not cluttered with umbrellas and chairs it is open to the water. We had a penthouse concerege room with the most amazing view. The management and staff can't do enough for you. The made our stay absolutely perfect. We just booked for next New Years and look forward to another wonderful Sandals experience.

Room Tip: We really like the Dutch village, We also stayed in the French Village in 2010 and found the Dutch...

A very good resort, food, drinks, rooms, service is excellent. Most important staff are very friendly.esp. Marvin.

Only downside is sandals rip you off with additional merchandising

We were railroaded into getting photographed, however sandals sell average quality photographs at rocket high prices. We paid high price for a poor quality print and a frame, they don't even give you digital copies as you have to pay double charge for same photo.

What an absolutely awesome resort!!! We have been here three times and it gets better each time. All of the rooms have great pool and ocean views. The sunsets are unbelievable and a part of each day for us. We love the pool staff, Damian and Errol, the go above and beyond to meet the needs of the guests. We spend a majority of our time at the main pool, Marlon did a great job of making us the best poolside drinks. In the evening the martini bar is a fantastic place to start your night, with Garth and Anthony making the guests laugh with the crazy brother like ways. Delroy is a true asset to the resort's service and Neal made our group feel extra special with dinner specials. We can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: All the rooms are great. We have stayed in 2 of the villages, and love them both.

My fiance and I stayed at Sandals Whitehouse for our honeymoon in November 2011, and had a wonderful experience. The resort is stunning with beautiful pools, impressive grounds, an amazing beach, with gorgeous sunsets and sunrises.

One perk that we loved about the Sandals experience was the amazing food -- It was the best food that I had ever had at an all inclusive. It is so good that you forget you are at an all inclusive and itt felt like every breakfast/lunch/dinner was an extravagant meal out. We really appreciated the number of non buffet restaurants that were available. Our favorites were Eleanors, Neptunes, and Cafe de Paris. We normally are not a fan of buffets, but the food at this buffet (Bayside) was pretty good and they prepare a lot of food for you on the spot so it is fresh. Bluefields was a great place to have lunch and enjoy Jamaican cuisine. Jasmines and Guisseppes were a bit more hit or miss--so we didn't go there much.

My fiancé, a vegetarian, was impressed at how well they accommodated vegetarians and the level of service. For example, on our first night there we asked about vegetarian options at a restaurant since there was nothing on the menu, and the chef improvised an amazing meal on the spot. After that, the restaurant manager spread the word to the rest of the chefs and we found that vegetarian options started appearing on menus. It is hard to top that level of service! We were also impressed by how the resort changed the resort menus throughout the week so that there was a variety of food options. Despite the no reservation system, we very rarely waited for a restaurant.

There was also impressive programming/activities. While we were there, I took advantage of the free tennis lessons. I had bought a tennis racket recently and hadn't learned to use it properly, and was pleasantly surprised that I was being taught by Vivian, a retired top tier Jamaican tennis pro. I made big progress in that week, and often had one on one tennis lessons during the free beginners clinic. We also enjoyed the broad range of ocean sports that were included. The Jamaican cooking lessons were also a blast. In general, the entertainment crew was fabulous. I have been to other all inclusives where I didn't bother with the entertainment in the evenings, or went and left, because it was kind of dull. This place on the other hand was a lot of fun. We went out almost every night. Although we found after the first week that they started repeating their entertainment schedule. I used the spa--it was excellent. Another perk is that you can use the spa facilities even if you do not book a spa experience. We found that the Italian pool was the "fun pool" and after we settled in, we spent most of our time there and played a lot of pool volleyball.

Our room was great. Although we were a bit bummed out at first because we arrived and found that our room did not have a great view of the beach, because it was blocked by trees (a bit disappointing when the resort advertises all rooms as being ocean view and we were on our honeymoon), but we communicated our disappointment and were very happy when we got to change rooms. We were in a standard room in the Italian area, and were impressed by the cleanliness and service. One thing to note is if you don't pay the extra for Concierge or Butler service, there are certain things that are not included (like 24 hour room service), or someone to bring you drinks on the beach. Some other resorts offer this as part of the regular standard service. (We think they do this so that they can justify charging concierge/butler service guests more!). Some cons to the rooms were that wifi is not included and dry cleaning is expensive!

The beach was lovely to walk along and we had no problems scoring a spot by the beach or the pool. However, we found that if we were on the beach after it rained, we were eaten by sand fleas (I think they spray the beach at night to address this). The sunsets and sun rises were spectacular.

The resort is also lovely because it is secluded with no vendors on the beach, and no other resorts nearby. The downside is it is a long harrowing drive to get to any excursions. So we found that we stayed at the resort.

In general, there are so many wonderful perks, that it is hard to top this experience if you are looking for a romantic getaway, and it is perfect for a honeymoon.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a better view if you get one that is blocked by trees.

We travelled to this resort near the end of September, 2012. I was travelling with my husband & my sister and her hubby. We snagged a great deal on this vacation, one of the reasons we chose to stay at a Sandals resort.
As many have mentioned the road and drive there is long, winding and sometimes a little hairy, but our driver was kind, courteous and took good care of us.
The grounds are marvelous, well kept and very clean as are all the main pool, bar and restaurants. The resort is not huge, but is very spread out, it was a good hike from one end to the other, but we could all use a little extra exercise so this wasn't a big deal, unless you get caught in a downpour. I did, got soaked because we were locked out of our room, the key stopped working, so off I went to concierge. Crystal at the concierge desk is AWESOME, the kindest women there and so willing to help out. We had a walk out oceanview room which was nice, but are starting to show some wear. In fact our room had a major window leak and we ended up being moved to a butler suite on the 2nd floor (minus the butler) but this was a big improvement upon our initial room.
Very big, spacious, top notch liquor, big fluffy king sized beds, huge bathroom with walk in shower and large soaker tub. we still had an amazing ocean view and happily lived out the rest of our vacation in this suite.
The restaurants are good, some better than others. It seemed that each venue had one really good item and then the rest were just, OK. I do have to say though that the pizzas served at the Italian restaurant during the lunch hour were the best! As was the french patisserie, to die for pastries, coffee's, ice cream and other little delights.
The pools were clean and well kept, towels were usually easy to find. Entertainment staff was great as were the guys working the boats etc on the beach. My husband and brother in-law had a daily ritual of wakeboarding in the morning before the waters became to rough. we went on the snorkelling tour right there at the resort, it was a disappointment. Very few fish, take a private tour further out if you enjoy snorkelling and want to really enjoy the sea life.
All in all it was nice resort, well worth it if purchased at a sale price.

Room Tip: go with a butler suite if you can afford it

Our 5th visit to this lovely property. As always the staff were warm and friendly and service provided was mostly of a high standard. Food in all the restaurant's was excellent. The watersports team were as always brilliant with special mention for Jackie, Denroy. Alton and the 'crazy man' on the snorkel boat. Special mention also for Ava Gardener the Concierge Manager....super lady and a fab welcome home from her.
Entertainment is outstanding especially Silver Birds and Rory Frankson.
We had a couple a niggles....the hosting in Bayside for breakfast and lunch was very hit and miss unless Marsha or Carona were there.
Secondly this was our 5th back to back visit and we met our 4th G.M., not a good thing for a hotel with such a high repeat business factor and we would assume unsettling for many of the staff as well.

Stayed here Jan 19-22 in the Italian Village second floor room 1222 Concierge Oceanfront suite. The drive i am going to be honest was terrible, lasted around 1 1/2 of bumpy roads hairline turns and construction on the roads. Once you are there it all goes away once you step into paradise. I have stayed at Caryle Inn, Montego Bay and Royal Carribean and these resorts dont hold a candle to this resort!!! The grounds are manicude to perfection the staff is at your every beck and call, so friendly and so helpful. Wanted to say thank you to Clive for being a wonderful Concierge during our stay, every request was greeted with a smile and done to perfection.
The food was wonderful and the land/water sports were so much fun, the main pool was impressive and the swim up bar and the bartenders worked there magic everytime i ordered a drink. I love the layout of the resort all of the restaurants are almost side by side except for neptunes and it is just steps away from Bayside restaurant. The new firepits and seating were so relaxing after dinner, i wanted to take a set home!!!
The Pros : Staff were wonderful!!!
Food was awesome
Diving and snorkling was so nice
Pools and hottubs were fabilous
Resort grounds were manicured to perfection
Concierge check-in/check out was fast and easy!!!
Italian Village was wonderful
Room was clean and very spacious loved the jet tub and seperate shower
Fridge was always stocked and never had to ask for towels always replenished

The Cons: The drive to and from was 1 1/2 of terror!!!
Had a charge of 300.00 dollars on my cc the day i arrived not counting my bill at the end of the stay of 61.00 and no one can tell me why????
All in all this was a wonderful vacation and going from 23 degrees and 4 inches of snow to sunny and 84 degrees is always Heaven!!! Cannot wait to come back and see Clive and the Concierge staff again!!!

Room Tip: Italian village is closer to the pools and restaurants, the Dutch village has a more laid back pool...
